My Escape

I felt like falling asleep again then he moves to get up, I grab his arm, and he leans to kiss me on the forhead. "Babygirl, I have to put them back on, I'm sorry," he whispers, gets up, puts the restrains back on, and unlocked the door. He walked out the door and a few minutes later I here Asher yell, "It's time Oliver, you can't keep her under control, she has to go."

I couldn't hear what Oliver said to him but a few minutes later he walked in locking the door after him. He unboarded the window as queitly as he could, and took off the restrains. "Run left outside the window and go untll you see a cave I will be there waiting for you," he said then kissed me. I slid out of the window and ran to the left like he had said. I couldn't really see anything just dark shadows of trees stands out in the dark.

I hope I am headed the right way, soon I hear footsteps far in the distance. My own footsteps loud as I run. After a few minutes I see the cave, so I ran to the cave and sure enough waiting for me was Oliver at the entrance. He pulled me toward him, holding me against him, like we were close.

He leaned down kissed me and then whispered in my ear, "You need to wait here and an hour after I leave, run to the right. Keep running straight until you reach the beach and get on the float, don't wait for me just leave."

"What's going to happen? Please come with me," I asked, trying to plead with him, but he just shook his head.

"I can't go with you my brother will be alone then, but I'm not sure what will happen exactly but hopefully you get of this Island," he said giving me one last hug, "I need to go now."

With that he left, I waited for an hour, then ran to the right like he told me. It took maybe 20 minutes to get to the beach, like he said, but I pushed the float out, getting on just in time to see Asher and Oliver running out of the woods yelling. Asher had a knife in one hand and Oliver had another knife. I started paddling as fast as I could looking longingly at Oliver, as tears weld up in my eyes.

They ran to the edge of the water but I knew I wouldn't have to worry about them getting to me, Asher walked back to the woods disappearing in the trees, while Oliver looked angry like he was trying to figure out how to get me. I got further and further away and he got smaller, I knew it would be a long journey, and I wouldn't have anything to eat. Hours later, I lost track of time, I heard a helicopter and I rushed to wave them down.

I was running through the woods again, dragging a friend, somehow I knew her name was Alora behind me, and then I noticed the cave entrance. The same cave entrance he met me at before.I took her to the back of the cave and hid in the shadows. I heard the crunching of leaves, a shadow passed, and then I heard his voice, he said, "Where are you hiding, babygirl? Why don't you come out to talk?"

I wanted to run to him but knew that if I did Asher and Oliver both would kill me then my friend. I looked around, finding a stick that had been snapped, and soon heard Asher say, "Oliver, where is she?" Then head into the cave, I got the stick ready and when he got close I stabbed him in the neck. I watched as the blood trickled from the end of the stick and he started clawing at the stick, trying to get it out.

I awoke trembling, and crying, looking at the time to see it was 3:50 in the morning. I got up getting ready for the day, trying to shake off the nightmare. I wore the light blue jean skirt, and black shirt outfit Ashlyn wore that horrible day. Brushing my teeth, hair, and getting my socks and shoes on, I headed down stairs to get my supplies and eat. As I see Grandpa and Grandma my eyes tear up, I guess I still hoped this was all a nightmare and mom, dad, and Ashlyn were still alive. I gave Grandpa and Grandma a hug each before heading to school.

Months had passed and before long I had a few friends and nobody remembered the miracle girl who survived the shipwreck and lost her family. I had made good grades and never missed a day of school. My friends' names were Adélaide, Bérénice, Alida, Delphine, Eva, Alora, Blaise, Gabriel, Lucas, Raphaël, Chase, and Anakin. We had gone to get ice cream when I mentioned my birthday coming up. I asked if anyone wanted to go to a party on an Island, which everyone agreed to go since it was a party.
