*4 months of being kidnapped*Sawyer's POV
After Cesco left our lives became a simple routine. Back before all of this, when we lived with our so-called adoptive mother and her husband, the abuse we went through couldn't compare to what we were going through now. We went through what we believed to be hell but we had breaks. We were able to go outside. Walk around. Have hobbies. We were able to live.
But now, now, we knew that our lives may have been a terrible life but this was worse. We woke up, got tortured in whatever way they hoped would force Quinn to give up what she knew, and then maybe be fed before we passed out once again. Physical, sexual, and their attempts at emotional torture get more extreme by the day. The three of us didn't talk much. We trusted one another and would protect one another but talking may allow others to hear us.
A few days ago, we were moved. Our arms were let down from the chains but were cuffed behind our backs now. Our new room was more of a cell giving us more information about where we were. Well not as much as we would've liked, they knocked us out before moving us, but more than the silent room. Avery was the one most confused by the change, it was a strange move on their part. I assume it was to monitor our conversations if we were to have any. The room we were in had no visible cameras or microphones and considering we couldn't hear anything outside of the room I'd assume it would be hard to hear what was being said inside.
Quinn and I open our eyes when we hear footsteps walking towards our cell. We don't look at one another and Avery keeps her eyes closed. We knew she was up but no one else would. When I see him walk up I blink. Instant regret for trying to push Quinn off looking into him.
Jayce. I wished I beat him worse that first day. He doesn't bother to look at me, rather like everyone else he focuses on Quinn. "I already told them you wouldn't give anything up, not to me at least." The asshole shrugs as if he didn't have a care in the world. Perfect clothes while we wore tatters of what was left of our clothes. "That brother of yours, Francesco, was it? He's back with his family. We all know he was the one they cared about. It's a good thing other people haven't figured that out yet."
We don't respond but he seems to expect that as a new set of footsteps approaches. Softer feminine footsteps with the clear clicking of heels. A woman dressed to perfection walks up. A person who clearly doesn't belong here but she doesn't seem to notice. In the dim light and her heavy makeup, it's hard to see any clear facial features but that doesn't seem to throw Quinn off, "You're our bio-mother." Quinn was the one who actually cared about the woman, whether it was her endless curiosity that led her to look into our mother or some sentimental feeling. Quinn's the one who has always been able to care about others more than herself. Avery claims her selfishness is meant to even it out.
Avery opens her eyes feigning boredom as she looks over the two with invisible hatred. The woman just laughs and shakes her head, as if this was all a joke. That her youngest children, if what Quinn says is true which I don't doubt, meeting her for the first time in years locked in a cell was something in a comedy. "He told me you would think like this."
Jayce unlocks the cell door and the two walk-in, stepping just to the side of the entrance as the woman walks in closer and stops in front of Quinn. Other than small facial features the three of us look nothing like her. I can see the features our brothers must have inherited from her but as Dad said we look like him more than this woman. She reaches out and brushes Quinn's cheek ignoring her flinching away, "Now, darling, how bout you tell me the password to the file you know we want, and then we can free you and you can come live where you belong."
She speaks to Quinn as you would to a child, or as if she thought she was an idiot. And my little sister was anything but stupid. Intellectually anyways.
Quinn stays silent and the woman begs for a few minutes before sighing in clear defeat. She tries yet again before she walks out ignoring Jayce completely as he follows her out and locks the door. It wasn't like we had the strength to escape. In the distance, you could hear faint yelling and some other sound before a loud bang.
Jayce shrugs again as if he was bored locking eyes with Quinn, "Well I guess we should've expected that but you really should give up the passwords already. Your time is running out."
