"OOF" I fell out of locker and landed on my elbows. "AH!" I tilted my head up to see a...(looks at pin on backpack strap) person? "Are you alright?" they asked and held out their hand. I nodded my head, but didn't take the strangers hand. "Who- Who are you?" I asked, very scared and unsure of the other person. "Oh! My name is Kaede Akamatsu. I'm the Ultimate Pianist. Nice to meet you." Kaede said, smile on their face.
One thing about them, they seem very optimistic. I stood up and quietly introduced myself. "Um, I'm Shuichi Saihara. They call me the Ultimate Detective, but..." I trail off, fidgeting with my hands. "You're a detective? That's amazing!" Kaede clapped their hands together. "Well I'm more like an apprentice. I just accidentally solved a case faster the police did. It's really not that impressive."
"No 'apprentice' can just so happen to accidentally solve a case. You should be more proud of yourself." Kaede smiled. I bit my lip and looked at the floor. "Maybe...." I mumbled out. Just then, 5 figures jumped out of the floor. Are those... teddy bears?
"AHHHHHHHH WHAT THE FUCK-" Kaede screamed. Calm down. Their not even a threat. "Teddy bears." I say. "Girl, their monsters you can freak out about this!" Kaede latched onto my arm as I facepalmed. "MONSTERS! WHERE?!" The blue one yelled. After the bears explained random shit I already forgot, me and Kaede decided to explore. We can't just stay in a classroom all day.
3RD PERSON POV
When they exited the classroom, Shuichi felt something in her uniform pocket. What she pulled out was... a tablet? "This must be the Monopad those bears were talking about." Shuichi said. "Ah. I knew I felt something in my backpack!" Kaede took off their backpack and reached inside. They pulled out the Monopad and turned in on, while Shuichi did the same.
Both pads lit up and the first thing they saw we're their names. Then, the screen showed a mess of colors. Little icons were everywhere, it almost looked like a phone. But instead of "Messages" and "Phone", there was a list of all the students attending. The only ones on the list however were Kaede and Shuichi. Shuichi was confused "That's weird. There's supposed to be 16 people but only me and Kaede are on here."
"We should get moving! This school isn't gonna explore itself!" Kaede said and walked. Shuichi stopped daydreaming and quickly caught up with Kaede.
