"Gabriel you idiot!" I screamed through the door
"Valerie! I'll get you out in a minute!" I heard Gabriel yell back through the door.
"Oh no you won't" Alistair's yell was muffled. I heard the sound of metal clashing on the other side. They were sword fighting.
"Gabriel what are you doing! You'll be slaughtered!" I yelled.
"Don't worry Valerie!" Gabriel yelled back heroically
"Concentrate on me, you peasant!" Alistair yelled.
"Alistair is the best with a blade that I know! You don't stand a chance!" I yelled again hoping Gabriel would come to his senses. It was the truth, other than playing his guitar he did an amazing sword dance and was one of the few gypsies who could use a sword well. Although when I was thinking about it he wasn't really a gypsy anymore since he had a mansion and was working for a king who kept gypsies as slaves.
"I wouldn't be so sure of that!" Gabriel yelled back. They had moved to around one of the sides of the caravan. I heard someone cry out in pain, but I didn't know which one. I assumed it was Gabriel.
"Gabriel can't you see this is futile! You're hurt!" I yelled through the wood.
"Who says I'm the one who's hurt?!" He yelled back cockily. That shut me up. I looked around at all the others in the caravan. All the others were staring at me and looked rather confused about the whole situation. I turned to them.
"Well um, one of them is winning" I said rather confused about the whole situation myself.
"I'll never let you take Valerie away from me!" Alistair yelled confidently. And then there was the sound of someone groaning.
"Are you sure about that?" Gabriel retorted. And then there was the sound of someone grunting.
"Well which one is winning?" Chase's mother asked curiously. I opened my mouth and realised I had no idea. I turned back to the wall just as another shout was let lose.
"Gabriel?!" I yelled was indecisively.
"What?" he yelled and then there came the sound of one of them yellowing in pain.
"Which one of you guys is winning?" I asked unsure if I wanted to know the answer and was thinking Gabriel would answer he was even though he wasn't.
"I am Valerie" Alistair yelled then was promptly cut off by another yowl
"He's lying, I am" Gabriel yelled back in his cocky manner.
I turned back to chase's mother, "well you heard them" I said more confused than ever. I paced as the sound of the sword fight danced to and fro. Then sounds of men crying and grunting in pain stopped and the sounds of metal clashing stopped. I pressed my ear against the wall once again.
"Well it looks like I'm the victor." One of them said. It was frustrating whoever said it was panting and out of breath and was so quiet I couldn't tell who it was.
"That sword play, it was-" one started to say but I didn't catch then end.
"Well now I think we let Valerie see the loser" my heart stopped. It had to be Alistair that won, he was going to chuck Gabriel in the caravan too and then sell him as a slave. It was too horrible to think any further than that. I heard the lock jangle. Everyone's eyes were trained on the door. The door opened inwards to reveal a figure.
"Sorry I took so long Valerie" The figure in the doorway said. He stepped forward into the room. I was angry and bitter with disappointment; it was Alistair standing in the caravan with an angry look on his face.
