It was 5:00 AM. This was the normal time that Kelsei would wake up to get dressed for school, since he had to walk. He'd take a shower to wash and brush his somewhat long black hair, and wash his pale face that was riddled with freckles. He put on his school uniform, made a small piece of toast, and left the house to walk to school. He was starting his Junior year, and boy was he excited.
When he got to the campus, his light blue eyes lit up. He couldn't believe that next year he was going to his Senior year.. it was magical! He grinned and walked into the school, heading to his first class. Kelsei was hoping he had at least a few friends in that class, but even if he didn't, he would most definitely see them during lunch. He just couldn't wait to express all the excitement he had!

In the middle of his second class, the person he was seated next to asked him for a little help on some notes that he missed. It was a little.. out of nowhere, but nonetheless..
"Sure!" Kelsei smiled and showed the other guy his notes. He let him copy off of him, and they talked for a little bit after. It was the first day of school, so there wasn't that much work to do.
"It's nice to meet you, Kelsei. I'm Zane. You're really cute." Zane was always the type to speak his mind. He did really find the boy cute, especially his name. His name sounded so unique.. it was adorable.
"Oh! Nice to meet you, too, Zane! Um.." Kelsei's face flushed. He hadn't heard that he was cute.. at all! It was a weird thing to hear from someone else he just met, but he really didn't mind. It felt nice hearing it. "Thank you..! You're um.. not so bad yourself, haha.."
Ah.. did he really say that though? That was a little embarrassing. It's not like he was into Zane, they had just met! He just was complimenting him, like how Zane complimented Kelsei. It was a little strange how well they got along so quick, but things do happen. They just had so much in common!
During lunchtime, Kelsei introduced all his friends to Zane. They treated Zane well and welcomed him to the friend group, almost as if they had liked him and his vibe as well. He just seemed like such a nice person to everyone.. until school ended. Kelsei was walking back home with his friends, excluding Zane. They had a nice talk, and eventually they brought up Zane.
"I don't.. really trust him, to be honest. How do you know he is who he says he is?"
"Right? He seems so weird. You shouldn't trust him so much, Kelsei. It can be dangerous."
"For real, Kelsei. You just met him today, and it already seems like you trust him even more then us."
They said all that they could to change the opinion Kelsei had on Zane. But he really didn't see what they saw.
"I don't.. understand why you guys say that. You just met him today, too. I get that you're worried.. but we're just friends. It's not like we're dating. He's not even my type, haha."
"If you say so, Kel. Just be careful, okay?" Kelsei's friend placed his hand on his shoulder. He was pretty worried. "There's just something about that guy I don't like."
"I understand! But trust me, I'll be okay. You guys act as if we're a couple-"
And that's when Zane showed up and cut Kelsei off. He pushed the other male's hand off of Kelsei's shoulder and wrapped his arm around him. A bit touchy, really..
"Hey, guys! What are you talking about?" Zane smiled and looked over at the other people around Kelsei.
"Oh, nothing. My house is right up the block, so I've gotta go. C'mon, Liz."
"Yup, alright! See ya later, Kelsei!"
The siblings walked back to their house, waving to Kelsei. Kelsei smiled and waved back. He knew their house was further away, but he didn't say anything.
Now he was just with Zane and his other friend.
"Oh.. We passed by my house. Haha, I'm such a moron. See you later, Kelsei. Oh, and Zane. You shouldn't get too touchy with him, it makes him uncomfortable." And with that, the male waved and left, leaving the two alone.
"So, where's your house at?" Zane asked the boy, still having his arm hung over Kelsei's shoulders.
"Ah.. a few blocks away. What about yours?" Kelsei responded, his face just a little flushed. This felt so awkward.."
"Oh, you know. Also a few blocks away. I don't mind walking you home!" Zane smiled and ruffled his hair with the same hand around his shoulder.
And off they went on their long walk, looking like a new couple. Boy, this Junior year sure will be crazy.
Kelsei just had no idea what was to come.
