Kelsei had gotten home pretty late that night. Not that he wanted to, he just got lost with Zane. But it was Zane who got them lost. He kept insisting to go in a different direction than where Kelsei was saying to go. Although he wasn't scared of Zane, his height was intimidating. Really, any height above Kelsei's is intimidating, but Kelsei usually listens to people his age that are over 6 feet. And Zane was just that. At least 6'1". He was pretty intimidating. His whole entire red aesthetic kind of gave Kelsei red flags, but he looked past them. Zane was being very sweet towards him, even if he wasn't listening to him.
As soon as Kelsei got home, he gave Zane a quick wave and pretty much ran into his home. He was definitely past curfew.. His parents would be pretty angry with him, if they weren't asleep. When he saw what time it was, his eyes widened. 11:30?! How could he have gotten that lost with Zane?! Kelsei sighed and went up to his room to write a quick entry in his diary. To sum up the new entry, it was just about how he met Zane, and then how he got lost. After doing that, Kelsei got ready for bed and fell asleep.

In the morning, Kelsei got out of bed. His dad was at his door as soon as he opened it. He was asked what he was doing out so late, and Kelsei explained everything. He said he met someone new and they had gotten lost on the way home. His father understood and told him to not let it happen again. If he did, there would be consequences. Kelsei responded with a simple, 'Okay,' and went off to go to school after getting dressed. As soon as he arrived in the class with Zane, he told him what happened.
"I can't stay out until late now. I don't want to get in trouble more than I already am with my parents. They'll start thinking you're a bad influence.." Kelsei tried to explain to Zane. But he didn't even look like he was paying attention.
"Heyy.. Calm down. It was just once, and if it happens again? So be it. Your parents haven't even met me. But hey, you wanna hang out after school today? Or maybe skip class since you can't go out past 10 or whatever?" Zane looked over at Kelsei with a smirk. Maybe he really was a bad influence..
But skipping school? That was something Kelsei had never done before. It sounded fun.. But should he really? Maybe just once..
"..Sure." Kelsei responded back. He thought he'd regret it as soon as they left.
"Great, let's get going before the bell rings."

And so the two were off. Kelsei kept his hand away from Zane's, so they wouldn't actually hold hands. Zane's hands were somewhat rough, it was kinda scary. But it didn't matter. As soon as they left school, Zane took Kelsei to his house. He had no parents home, which was weird, but he didn't mind. Zane grabbed a skateboard and gestured for Kelsei to follow him. Kelsei obeyed him and followed behind, until they stopped at a skatepark.
"You know how to skateboard?" Zane placed his skateboard on the floor and smiled at the other. A soft smile.. A nice smile.. Kelsei somewhat wished he could see it more.
"Umm.. No, not really. I was never taught how, haha."
"Really? Huh, I'll teach you how."
"No, you don't have t-" Before Kelsei could finish, Zane picked him up by his underarms and placed his feet on the board. Zane moved his hands down to Kelsei's hips, keeping him steady on the skateboard. It was a bit unexpected, but Kelsei didn't mind. As long as he didn't fall off, he was fine.
Zane moved Kelsei's arms in a certain pose to keep him balanced, and then he told Kelsei to put his feet on certain parts of the skateboard. He was just teaching him how to stay balanced, and then he could teach him how to skate. Then maybe tricks could come after. If.. Kelsei was comfortable with that.
"Alright, now you can put your arms down if you think you're balanced. If you need to stop, push the back of the board to the floor with your back foot. If you fall off, I swear I'll be there to catch you." Zane told the boy with a smile. He wasn't lying, he would catch him if he did fall off. But he know Kelsei wouldn't fall. He looked pretty balanced, and he believed that Kelsei could keep it that way.
"Now slowly push the board forward.." Zane instructed, stepping back to let Kelsei do so. He didn't even respond back, he just did what Zane told him to. He somewhat trusted him, even if they just met yesterday.
Before Kelsei knew it though, he was going pretty fast. It was somewhat of a surprise and it sort of scared him since Zane was a little far to catch him if he fell, but he breathed and did what he could to stop the board. Like doing what Zane had told him to. It stopped and he just stared at the board, almost as if he saw a ghost. And then he heard Zane laughing behind him.
"Pff... You're a natural! I didn't expect you to start going so quick.. But you owned it! Nice, dude!" Zane exclaimed, walking over to Kelsei. He was still laughing, but it was fading away once he saw Kelsei pouting.
"I feel like you did that on purpose. I almost went into the road..!" Kelsei got off the board and crossed his arms. He didn't even have any protection! No helmet, no elbow pads, no knee pads.. One scrape and his mom would get worried for no reason.
"Whaaaat? I didn't do that on purpose! I had no clue the road was even there. C'mere, won't you? I'll show you a few things later." Zane said, spreading his arms out. He wanted a hug.. Maybe a hug to apologize for nearly killing Kelsei? That was sweet.
"Okay.." As soon as Kelsei got closer to Zane, he was pulled into a hug. It was expected, but it felt a bit awkward. Maybe it was because he wasn't hugging back.. So Kelsei hugged the taller male back, basically accepting the apology.
Zane smiled and ruffled up the other's hair. His soft, dark, long, pretty hair. He was far too beautiful for a boy. A girly boy, maybe? What would Kelsei look like with short hair? He probably wouldn't look very cute. It's always boys with long hair who are super attractive.
"Okay," Zane let the boy out of the hug and grabbed his skateboard. He set it in front of Kelsei and gestured for him to get on it. "Hop on. I'll help you a bit more."

Kelsei and Zane had arrived home even more late than last time. Two in the morning.. Out doing god knows what. They were just being kids. But then came something Kelsei didn't expect.
A.. kiss.
At the doorstep.
From Zane.
But why? They weren't even dating.. They barely know each other!
"H-Hey..! D-Don't.. Don't do that. We don't know each other that well. It.. It makes me uncomfortable." Kelsei stepped back from Zane until he ran into the door. Was it.. Locked? He didn't have his keys either..!
"Aw.. Come on. Don't be boring, Kelsei. I know you like me and I like you, so we should just start dating." Zane responded back, keeping his distance though. He wanted to make Kelsei feel more comfortable, like he was a few minutes ago.
"Ah.. Um.. I.. Can I think about it..? Please? I'll give you a response in at least a week.. But I really need to go inside." Kelsei just wanted to stall the answer time. He needed months to think about it, because he wasn't that desperate for love. Especially since it came from someone like Zane.
"Alright. See you tomorrow."
"Yeah.. Tomorrow."
And so, Zane was gone. As soon as Zane was out of sight, Kelsei went over to one of his friends' house. It was nearby, and he knew they were up doing homework or studying. So he walked all the way there and knocked lightly on the door. There they were, sleep deprived as ever.
"Kelsei? Why are you h-" Kelsei shoved them out of the way and went in.
"Please let me stay here tonight. And close the door, hurry. I don't know if he followed me or not."
"Who?"
"No.. No one.."
The two went upstairs to the other's room, talked for a while, then fell asleep.

Tomorrow is another day with Zane, though.
