Lumine's POV
The rest of the day went easily. All of my afternoon periods gave out no homework, which I was relieved about. I was walking home with Aether (who I was extremely frustrated with) and Paimon, but Aether was silent and looked distant. "Aether, what's wrong?" Paimon asked. I shot her an irritated glance. "Heh~!? Oh. Chongyun showed me something earlier... it's nothing, never mind." He sped up and started running ahead of us. I was glad to have him gone, but I was curious about what happened with Chongyun.
I sighed. "Paimon, what am I gonna do about Aether?" I asked. It was hot in here for October. "Paimon doesn't know, maybe try talking to him? Paimon's not good with this stuff..." "Okay. Maybe I can try that." I knocked on Aether's door, prepared for the worst. Aether was laying sideways on his bed, his phone halfway in his hand. Asleep. He had been texting... Chongyun? Huh. Never would've thought. And about... me... I picked it up and scrolled to the beginning of their conversation, starting to read.
Chongyun: bookmark
Aether: yeah idk what that's supposed to mean
Chongyun: UGH I HATE XINGQIU'S PUZZLES
Aether: you'll figure it out
Chongyun: I know, I know
Chongyun: but Xingqiu's trying to say something
Chongyun: Wait what if he was too sick to text a full sentence
Chongyun: WHAT IF HE'S DYING!?
Aether: please calm down he texted you again, so it should be okay
Aether: don't think he's dying
Chongyun: okay okay sorry I'm just rlly anxious about this
Aether: it's okay I get it
Aether: Chongyun?
Aether: Are you still there

Chongyun: nmmmmm sorry xingqiu texted again
I heard a noise, and it just turned out to be Aether stirring and mumbling something. I kept reading, not sure if I should or not. Maybe Chongyun would understand why I was reading. Or maybe he'd be mad at me.
Aether: What did he say
Chongyun: he said bookmark again
Chongyun: but in a different way
Aether: *visible confusion* pls explain
Chongyun: he said 'bookmark it, Yunyun'
Aether: hmmmmmmm "yunyun"?
Aether: Its closer to a sentence, then, maybe
Chongyun: yeah but he isn't responding again
Chongyun: NVM NVM so how're things with ur sis
Aether: theyre ok I guess
Aether: I messed up rlly bad tho earlier
Chongyun: oh
Chongyun: you could try just leaving a note in her locker apologizing if you want my advice
Aether: she won't care lol :'(
Chongyun: Hmmm
