Xiangling's POV

I knocked on Xinyan's door again in the afternoon, and she answered happily this time. Her hair was pinned back in their normal pigtails and her guitar in one hand. "Ling, hey!" She greeted me. Her house was chaotic, filled with her brothers and sisters. "Hey! Xinyan! I brought food!" "Eeeee! What is it!? I love you cooking. Everyone does!" "Your favorite, Jueyun Chili Chicken!" "Oh my gosh, yay!"

Hanging out with Xinyan was fun, but tiring since she had so many siblings. When I got home, I tried texting everyone to see how Xingqiu was doing and other stuff.

Text with Xingqiu:

Xiangling: Hiya

Xiangling: how r u doing

Xingqiu: Well, thank you

Text With The Gang:

Xiangling: Hellooooooo just got back from Xinyan's house it was fun

The texting went on until I got an email from the director of the cooking class.

Hi, Ms. Mao. Classes will begin on Monday. Be prepared; they will run long.

Chongyun's POV

"Chongyun, somebody's at the door!" mom yelled. "But it's only seven thirty." I mumbled. "She said she was here to see, uh, 'Yunyun'? I assume that's you..." I fell out of bed. Yuunyun? Only Xingqiu would call me that. I walked down the stairs and sure enough, my mom was chatting with Qiu, calling him a girl, and offering him pork dumplings. "I... I'm sorry, but I'm vegetarian!" Xingqiu declined, clearly uncomfortable. My mom quickly retracted the plate. "Oh, my bad. Ah, Chongyun, there you are!" I pulled my mom aside before she could open her mouth again. "You do realize that Xingqiu's a boy, right?" I whispered. She looked surprised, though she said nothing. "Don't embarrass me in front of him please." I glanced at iIngqiu, but he seemed pretty distracted by the window. She got a devious look on her face. "Why, do you like-" "No. We're both boys. That'd be weird." "You're blushing, Chongyun." "Neyh!? *sigh* Okay, okay, fine, I kinda sorta like Xingqiu. So just don't do anything weird. He doesn't eat meat, by the way." That's when I realized he probably wouldn't eat the Moon Pie that Xiangling made for him. Whoops.

"S-So, Qiu, why are you here?" I asked, sitting next to Xingqiu. He pulled his gaze away from the window wearily. It looked like there was something wrong. "Sorry. What?" "Why did you come here? Are you feeling better?" "Ah. Yes. I came to repay you in the form of popsicles." he said, handing me a blue popsicle. It looked delectable. "Thanks." "Booooooys, I've got animal crackers1!" My mom waltzed into the room. I stood up, positive I was turning more red than Gorou when somebody complimented his tail or ears. "Mom, what did I say about not being weird! Plus, these are animal crackers. Though I'm not sure if they count as- Ugh, I'm rambling again. But please go before Xingqiu realizes how insane you are." I insisted. Xingqiu started laughing instead of getting flustered. "You two look so happy." he snorted. I'd never seen Xingqiu laugh before. It was amazing. Breathtaking. I wish I heard it more often. Then it hit me. I think he was jealous. Or at least secretly upset. He never laughed. I think seeing my mom and I made him hurt. I just don't think he wants to let it on. I don't think he even knew he was doing it.

KK I know this was short but I got lazy and there's something happening big in a chapter that I want to kinda stay in one chapter. Happy reading!
