Ink's POV
The family was hanging outside on the patio. The weather was nice despite the current winter season. The kids played in the backyard while the adults sat around a fire pit.
Error, Reaper, and Dad talked and drank beer. Geno was talking with Mom as they looked at Mom's garden. Fresh was forced to babysit the kids. I was sitting on a swing, holding PJ carefully.
The small baby looked up at me with curious eyes. He raised his tiny hand, placing it on my cheek. I kissed PJ's head and spoke to him in higher pitched voice. A smile appeared on his face as he let out a cute laugh.
I began to swing slowly as I watched Gray play with Raven and Goth. There was a feeling that someone was watching me which caused me to turn my head.
I locked eyes with Error to see that he was looking at me. He winked at me while sipping his beer. My cheeks became warm and my eyes broke contact timidly.
He looked back at dad but I continued to glance at him. If I were to sum Error up in a few words they would be tall, respectful, kind, funny, cuddly, and sexy as fuck. His amazing personality was one of the reasons why I married him.
I looked down, seeing that PJ was slowly falling asleep. His eyes were almost closed as he released a small yawn. He brought a smile to my face.
A voice filled with pain made me look up. I recognized that it belonged to Gray.
I handed PJ to Error before walking over to my first born. He was holding his knee. He was crying. There was slight blood.
I tried to keep myself controlled as I needed to teach Gray that he shouldn't whine about a small cut.
Me: You're not bleeding that much. You're fine, Gray.
I said in a calm voice. He let go of his knee as he looked at me. I wiped his tears and helped him up. I held out my hand to him.
Me: Come on. Let's go clean it.
Gray took hold of it and leaned into my leg. We entered the house and walked to the bathroom.
I carefully picked Gray up and gently set him on the counter next to the sink. I rummaged through the cabinets, looking for cleaning alcohol.
I eventually found it as well some cotton balls. The smell of alcohol hit me after I opened the bottle. I dipped the cotton with the liquid before lightly pressing it against Gray's knee.
My child winced in pain as I cleaned it. I felt bad that I was slightly hurting him. A blow of my breath was able to calm the sting for a few seconds.
I added the final touch by applying a bandaid on the scrape.
Me: There. All better?
Gray nodded, wrapping his small arms around me. I smiled as I returned it.
Gray: I love you, mama.
Me: I love you too, baby.
I picked him up and carried him back outside so he could continue playing.
(Time Skip)
I was leaned back in a chair while staring at my hand of cards. We were playing a card game that was favored throughout the family. The person to have the lowest amount of points would win the game. However, I was currently losing and Geno was winning.
Suddenly, Error won the round which caused everyone else to start counting the points that they had accumulated. I was not happy with the end results.
Me: Fucking one hundred and fifty. Son of a bitch.
I said, slamming my hand down on the table before getting out of the chair to leave the room. As I entered mine and Error's bedroom, I heard Geno say something to my husband.
Geno: Wait a few minutes. We all know how Ink is when he's angry.
Slamming the door behind me, I sat on the bed and turned on my phone. Thoughts went through my mind as I checked my notifications.
'I shouldn't have reacted like that. It's only a game.'
Light flowed into the room when I saw the door slowly open. I noticed that it was Gray timidly looking at me. He closed the door and crawled onto my lap. I softly pet Gray as he rested against my chest.
Gray: Are you upset mama?
Me: Somewhat but I shouldn't be.
I sighed at my previous irrational explosion of rage.
Gray: Are you upset at me?
Me: No, baby. Never at you.
Gray: At dad?
I nodded while quietly laughing to myself.
Me: Yeah but it's over a stupid reason.
My emotions started to calm down as I closed my eyes.
Gray laid on me for a few minutes longer until our silence was broken when the door opened again. Error walked in with an apologetic expression. He gave me a small smile which I returned.
My husband got on the bed, laying next to me on his side. I stared at him while I rubbed circles on Gray's back. Error sighed as he opened his mouth to speak.
Error: I'm sorry, Inky.
Me: Why are you apologizing, babe?
Error: For pissing you off.
I smiled at him.
Me: You shouldn't be saying sorry for something that isn't your fault. I had no reason to act like that during a card game.
We enjoyed each other's company. I kissed Error and apologized over my behavior.
Error: Do you want to continue playing?
Me: Yes, even thought I am losing miserably. I promise to...
Control my anger
