The pair had left the market hours ago and were nearing the warehouse Belle had spoken of. Dusk was beginning to settle in the city, diffused rays of sunlight tinted the weary streets in light hues of orange and yellow creating a picturesque painting. Rosa was humming quietly to herself, unusual for her-especially given that her repertoire of songs was limited to the ones she had learnt when she was younger. But in truth, it was because she a light-headed feeling of reaching safety.

What I wouldn't do to always feel like this.

"Rosa? Rosa!"

Rosa snapped out of her reverie, Elyn was pulling at her sleeve, her nose crinkling slightly as she frowned at her. "Didn't you hear what I just said?"

She rolled her eyes. "Probably not."

A soft blow landed on the fleshy part of her arm as the girl beside her punched Rosa as hard as she could. Rosa lifted an eyebrow at Elyn's flimsy attempt.

"Oh no," she screwed her eyes in pain and gently rubbed the spot, "that really hurts." Elyn seemed to brighten, as if actually believing that she could possibly inflict mortal harm on another being.

Rosa continued on, "It felt like being tapped by a pillow."

She punched even harder this time while Rosa chuckled under her breath. "Alright I'm sorry. But what was that question of yours?"

A dirty look was thrown at Rosa's direction before she sniffed haughtily and turned away. "My family name. Why didn't you want Belle to know?"

Rosa stopped in her tracks and felt Elyn bump into her in surprise. Doesn't this girl know anything?

Elyn twirled a strand of auburn-red hair as she realised Rosa looked at her with an incredulous expression, ears pricking upwards like a cat would if surprised. "Do you mean to tell me you know nothing about your parents work?"

Elyn shook her head hesitantly.

"Will and Rhea Jenkins. The two people who most want for all Hybrids to die, the two people who persecuted and executed more Hybrids then anyone up to date and you're asking me why I don't want you to tell others about your real surname?" Rosa shook her head in disbelief, "They'll kill you that's what they'll do." She said quietly.

Her voice was starting to tremble, "They never told me anything."

This girl really knows nothing.

Rosa whipped her head round, looking across the crumbling streets if anyone had noticed a difference in the two girls. After a moment's hesitation, she roughly grabbed Elyn by the arm, ignoring her outburst of indignation and pulled her to sit on a nearby rickety table.

"What's wrong with you!" Elyn finally cried, angry at being roughly handled.

Rosa ignored her cries and looked her hard in the eye, her intent on finding out everything about the red-headed youth clear. "Tell me what you know." She said quietly, fully aware that anyone could hear her if she wasn't quiet enough.

Elyn looked as if she was about to scamper away from Rosa, whipping her head round as if calculating her options. Before she was even able to jump from her seat, quick as a flash Rosa's hand clasped her own, encasing her hand in one made of steal.
