Y/n's POV
Today was my very first time working the graveyard shift at the Lone Wolf, a local club where people, especially singles come to have a good time. So it's living up to its name.
"What time is it?" my co-worker, Emile, asked as she neatly stacked the cups in their proper place.
I looked down at my apple watch, giving it a tap to reveal the time.
"It's 10:59 pm, finally we can escape this hell hole."
She chuckled and helped me make sure everything was clean and I made sure the doors were locked before we left. The air was very windy and cold from the moment I walked out. Damn it! Out of all the times I decide to bring a jacket just in case of cold weather and now that I decide not to bring one it's cold as hell? On top of that, I still don't have a car yet so I'd have to walk home and I most certainly wasn't gonna face pure humiliation by asking her for a ride. I'd hate to be a burden.
It wasn't that late so I could still call an uber. I pulled out my phone and saw that the battery was at 1% and before I could do anything else the screen went black and refused to turn back on.
"Great. Just my luck." Sighing, closing my blazer around me tightly, which didn't do much of anything considering that it was very thin, I took a shortcut home through the woods. Probably not the best idea but what else was I supposed to do? I wanted to get home as quickly as I could. As I advanced through the woods, I could hear twigs snapping and the leaves crunching under my feet, along with the sound of crickets singing their usual melody. It was becoming very difficult to see since I had little to no source of light, except for the full moon shining bright above the trees. It was especially challenging to see where I was going, or navigating my way back home. The wind whirled around me and water droplets began to fall, which made the temperature drop, even more, causing me to shiver even harder than more. Just then, I could hear howling in the distance; a distance not that far from where I was. Panicked, I ran as fast as I could through the trees, cutting myself on branches in the process. The howls seemed to be getting closer, which made me speed up even more. I had no idea where I was going but I wasn't stopping unless I made it home or found myself far from the howls. My chest felt heavy, my lungs thirsted for more air and my legs felt as if they'd give out if I went any longer. Suddenly, I came into contact with a wall, causing me to fall. I winced as I felt the top of my head where it made contact, and moved it away. I stood up and tilted my head up. This was a house. And not just any house- a mansion. I could hear the faint sound of water settling, which meant there was a lake or stream nearby. I soon found the front of the house and due to the moonlight, I could faintly see how big this place was. I made my way over to the door and knocked but the knocks became more intense once I heard twigs snapping near me. After a minute or two I was getting impatient and even more terrified; to my surprise, a voice spokeswoman from inside. "Ugh, who could that be at this hour?" The door creaked as it opened, revealing a tall man with pale white hair. He removed his hand from his face and looked at me with hooded eyes, he was probably asleep or very close to it before I arrived.
"Hello darling, are you lost?"
He said in a groggy voice, confirming my previous thoughts. He glanced behind me for a brief moment as if he were trying to see if I was alone or if someone or something was following me.
"I...It appears so." I clutched my blazer wrapping it tighter around me as to find some warmth.
"It's very late out...and quite chilly, you must be freezing. Come inside. Here, I'll get you a cup of tea, I'll take care of you." He said with a sympathetic look on his face. I didn't even know this guy and yet he was in such a hurry to help me? I was beginning to think that maybe I shouldn't have come here in the first place. Even so...this man was incredibly gorgeous and quite intimidating although he was trying to be. He was simply offering me help
but yet I couldn't help but feel small and not just because of our height difference. Just looking at him made my heart do things it shouldn't.
"N..No thank you, I...I just need to borrow a phone to make a call and I..I'll leave."
He flashed a cheeky grin as he simultaneously detected my nervousness.
"Oh don't worry, I don't bite......At least not too hard." He chuckles softly and grins once more. I instantly felt my cheeks heat up, but since it was dark he probably didn't notice. Letting out a small chuckle, I rubbed the back of my neck a little, keeping my blazer closed with my other hand, and backed up a bit.
