James Potter In Slytherin

James potter was waiting in the back carpartment on the Hogwarts express. He was waiting for his friends Sirius Black and Remus Lupin as that where his childhood friend, he was staring out the window. His friends made it to the carpartment just before the train was due to leave the station.

He was not confident on witch house he was going to be sorted out into but his friends where confidently excited to be sorted into Gryffindor. While the train was leaving the station Sirius Black was making nasty remarks on the Slytherin house at Hogwarts. While Sirius was making these nasty remarks Remus was reading a book on different magical creatures while James was still watching out the window of the compartment. Sirius didn't notice that his friends wasnt paying attention to what he was saying, that is when Sirius mentioned something to James to try and get his attention on to himself. James Than had noticed that Sirius was trying to get his attention so he took his attention off of the window and onto his friend sirius. At this point Sirius was not impressed by his friends lack attention. At this point Sirius was about to say something when Remus then said that the train was getting close to hogsmeade stationery square, at this point James ended up going to get into his Hogwarts uniform for first years.

James knew that it was obvious that he looked nervous about the sorting. Once they got off the train and to the boats where they would be lead across the lake to the Hogwarts gates and then from there they would be introduced to professor McGonagall. After McGonagall was introduced to the first years you lead them into the castle to The entrance Hall to where they would be met with the double doors of the great Hall of where they would be sorted into their respective houses of Hogwarts, at this point of time this is where McGonagall had her speech where she spoke about the different houses of Hogwarts and what they stood for. She said there was Slytherin, Hufflepuff, Gryffindor and lastly but not least Ravenclaw. You could obviously tell that professor McGonagall was the respective head of house of Gryffindor even though she was dressed in green.

As professor McGonagall finished her speech and she went inside the double doors, James saw a beautiful redheads head full of vibrant red colours. That is when Sirius had noticed again that James was not paying attention to his conversation again and this was starting to upset Sirius. When professor McGonagall had come back and lead them into the great Hall to be sorted silently into the houses. At this point James was really nervous he had felt like he was gonna have an anxiety attack but his friends didn't even notice this.

After a few people where sorted into Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw, James didn't notice that the girl he was staring at (while waiting for professor McGonagall), was sorted into Gryffindor. At that point of realisation professor McGonagall called out "black, sirius". At that Sirius walked up to the spot the sorting hat was placed on a three legged stool.

Once he reached the three legged stool he picked up the hat and sat on the stool once he sat on the stool professor McGonagall picked up the hat and place it gently onto sirius' head and was being sorted. After a few minutes Sirius was sorted into Gryffindor.

James didn't talk much on the way to Hogwarts as his friends just thought he just wonted some alone time, which was fine to them. James was lost in thought up until his other friend Remus was called up to the stool. After what felt like minutes later but in reality it was only three minutes, Remus Lupin was sorted in to Ravenclaw. Remus' face expression consisted of pure confusion and sadness.

There was a few people to be sorted before James but he just tuned it out until his name was called. After McGonagall finished with the last people before James was called, McGonagall called out his name and that brought him out of his thoughts. He was now walking towards the stool. James was a nervous wreck as he nearly stumbled on his own foot going towards the stool to sit down to be sorted.

As he sat on the stool and the hat was set on the top of his head, he heard the hat talk to him he was confused as to hear the hat talk in his head.

Normally the hat would give you a choice of house to be in but for some reason the hat did not. As the hat was makeing the decision of houses for this boy, James tryed to convince the hat to put him in Gryffindor as his childhood friend Sirius or to be in Hufflepuff but the hat seemed to not hear him trying to talk him in to those houses but the hat seemed to pick up on the plan of manipulating the hat to do so, just at that point the hat billowed out with one word that shocked James and that words was "BETTER BE SLYTHERIN!".
