When I arrived home, I entered the house and rushes to the kitchen to grab the cake in the fridge

There was someone in the living room or I was just hallucinating ????
Feeling scared, I slowly went to the living room to see Joshua sitting there, staring at me as I was also staring at him.
"Am I dreaming ?" I asked, breaking the silence
He laughed softly
"Seriously ? The first thing you're asking is that ? Give me a break Sophia !" he laughed
The moment he responded, I could feel my tears escaping. I don't know why, I just want to cry. I rushed to him and hugged him immediately. He hugged me as he pats my head gently
"I missed you my honey..." I uttered between sobbings
"I missed you too my dear" he responded as he kissed on top my head
"You should've told me you're coming" I frowned
"Well, I wanted to surprise you" he laughed
His eyes were swollen, surely he was crying, but because of what ??
"Did you cry ?" I asked
"Well... Yeah, I kinda did" he laughed
"Was it because I didn't get to be there earlier ? And that letter ?" I asked
"You sure know everything don't you" he chuckled
"I'm really sorry about that... I really wanted to come but they suddenly held an emergency meeting..." I frowned
"Dear, you know you shouldn't be sorry for that. I know how busy you are and I'm just really happy that we finally got to see each other now" he caresses my cheeks
"But still---"
He cut me off with a kiss. As I missed him so much, I didn't push him away and went with the flow. Oh how I missed you so much...
We broke it off after a while as he smiled
"I'm home" I uttered
"Welcome home" he responded
