"Aye! Jack, Violet, we got a room!" Clay shouts from the other side of the door.Jack sighs loudly before getting up and opening the door. I stay on the ground as Clay and Anna walk in.
"What're you-" Clay stops. "Oh, did we interrupt something?"
Jack and I look at each other and I can't help my laugh. I shake my head after and they both raise an eyebrow at me.
I help Clay lay Anna down on the right side of the bed. He sits down next to her, but his eyes are on me.
"Did you have a good time? He raises an eyebrow at me and I sit down on the end of the bed.
"I was going to ask you the same thing," I grin at him, then look down at Anna who's passed out on her side. "But yes, I had a good time. Everyone is nicer than I imagined."
His eyes drop to Anna. "Do you think she likes me?" His face is soft and he tucks a strand of her hair behind her ear.
I smile. "If you're half as charming as your brother, there's no way she doesn't."
He chuckles then gets up. I do the same and he stops in front of me.
"I'll," His eyes fall back onto Anna. "See you two in the morning." His arms open and I step into them. We hug for a few seconds and he leaves.
March 23rd
10:34a.m.
I roll over and find Anna gone. Sitting up, I hear the shower running and spot clean clothes on a chair in the corner of the room.
There's a note on my side of the bed.
I thought you two could use some fresh clothes. Hope you like them.
-Neelam
I smile at the note before placing it back down on the bedside table.
11:23a.m.
Anna and I are both showered and dressed in the clothes Neelam provided. For me, she's chosen blue mom jeans, a black halter neck crop top, and a familiar olive green sweatshirt. Jack's sweatshirt.
She's given Anna black mom jeans, a cropped white shirt, and a black blazer. We stare at ourselves in the mirror before grabbing our stuff and heading downstairs.
We're greeted by Ace and 2for sitting in the eating area. I look around but don't spot Jack or Clay anywhere.
"Aye, come sit down," Ace gestures for us to come to join them, so we do.
I don't know how long we sit talking and eating, but eventually, Jack shows up and sits down next to me.
"Hey, you." He throws his arm around my shoulder and smiles brightly at me. I smile back, feeling my face heat up.
"They were just telling us some stories about you and Clay," Anna says after a sip of orange juice.
Jack's eyes widen and I can tell he expects Ace and 2for to embarrass him. Which they did, but not too much.
I giggle and his eyes fall onto me.
"What did they say?" He whispers to me. I turn, face him and shake my head. He pouts at me and I push a curl from out of his face.
"Shouldn't y'all have left Oakland already?" I ask Ace, who looks at 2for, who looks at Jack.
Jack nods his head, then looks at me. His face is soft and cute.
"But we're your ride back, so we thought we'd wait for you." He grins at me.
I peer up at him. "We could've ubered back to the hotel," My voice is soft and Jack's eyebrows furrow.
"You should know we'd never let you do that when we have a perfectly spacious tour bus to take you with." His tone is serious, so I take one last bite of my pancakes and finish off my orange juice.
12:33p.m.
We're out front of our hotel and the bus doors open. Everyone follows us out, even though I told them not to.
"What if people recognize you?" I say, but Jack blows it off and steps out before Anna and me.
"He wants to see you off. Let him." Anna bumps my shoulder as she steps off the bus. I sigh and join them outside.
"I guess this is see you later," Jack says and I smile at him, knowing I'll see him next week in Sacramento.
"Yeah. Until next time." I beam up at him and he opens his arms. I step into them, inhaling his cologne and enjoying the feel of his hands on my back.
The heat of his body warms me up and I know I must be red in the face right now.
I don't let go, and he doesn't let go. We just stand there for however long, holding each other. I hear everyone else's voices around us, but they're faint. Almost muffled.Someone eventually taps on my shoulder. Ace.
"Sorry to break this up, but Jack, we've gotta go." He says from behind me, and I reluctantly let go of Jack.
"My bad," I say turning to Ace.
"No problem lil sis." He says and I punch his arm before he pulls me into a swift hug.
I thank Urban for trusting me with his camera, I thank Neelam for the clothes, and I thank Jack for the night.
We stand and watch as the bus turns the corner and disappears.
