The Griffin was part of a small group of survivors.
They had 2 J. Edgar tanks, a Manticore tank, three platoons of soldiers, two Griffins (including the one that saved Redy), an Archer, three Commandos, and something that they had stolen from Argon called the Champion Elite.
Note: the Champion Elite is basically a normal Champion CHP-1N, but with an AC/20-BF, three M lasers, one MP laser, and 1 SRM2-ST.
They quickly repaired his Cattlemaster, and attached extra armor and weapons.
The addition of an AC/5 would allow him to gain the advantage in a light firefight.
He was put in a lance with the Griffin that saved him, a Spider, and a Vulcan.
The pilot of the Griffin was named Randy, the pilot of the Spider was named Tim, and the pilot of the Vulcan only went by "D-13", and his voice was always crackly.
2 days later
Redy fired his AC/5 into the Aphid.
He slammed his 'mech fist into it's head.
He watched a Royal Panzer flail around with Tim's Spider clinging to it's back, tearing out it's circuits.
A squad of infantry sprinted past Redy's Cattlemaster's legs, trying to escape D-13's Vulcan.
