Mirabel's POV
We finally made it out of there, the vision in pieces all tucked in my purse. Mateo and I snuck back out and he gave me a quick hug, telling me he has no other intrest in being anywhere near being involved with his father.
So that leaves me to make it back to my room undetected. But, of course, I run into Abuela.
"Where are you going to in such a hurry?" She asks, brushing sand off of her.
"Uh, I'm sorry. I was just uh..." I tried to explain myself horribly.
"And what is in your hair?" She asks. I quickly brush the sand from my hair, while still trying to avoid detection.
Luckily though, Luisa comes in at the perfect time saying she's lost her gift. Which is weird and all but at least it saved me from being caught.
So she goes on to explain everything, adding in the part of us talking about how she's carrying too much, and Abuela looks at me while I turn away, guiltily.
"What did you do? What did you say to her?" She asks.
"Nothing, I don't..." I try again. Wow, today really isn't my day for speaking.
"Isabella's engagement is tonight and nothing else can go wrong. So don't talk to Luisa until I can. And whatever you're doing. Stop doing it," She says with finality before walking back down the stairs.
I go back to my room and place down the four pieces that show me in it, examining them more.
"Why am I in your vision, Bruno?" I say, but scared by a thunder strike.
I turn to see my Tia Pepa there so I hide the pieces behind me. "Tia, jeez."
"Sorry. Sorry. I didn't mean to. I just came to get the last of Tontio's things and then i heard the name, we do not speak," She says angrily, another cloud coming over her head. She calms down and starts to pack up the rest of Antonio's things.
"Tia, If...he...had a vision about someone, what would it mean for them?" I ask her.
"We don't talk about Bruno."
"But he's Mateo's Papa," I add.
"Yes and we love Mateo and he doesn't define him, ok. So we don't talk about Bruno, especially not around Mateo."
"I know. And it's just hypothetically, if he saw you..." I press on.
"Mirabel please, we need to get ready for the dinner tonight," She says, shooing her cloud away.
"I just wanna know if it was generally positive or less positive..." I ask, but Tio Felix bursts in and adds into the conversation.
"It was a nightmare!"
"Felix!" Pepa says hasitly. Felix then goes on saying how horrible it was.
"What if you don't understand what it was?" I ask.
"Then you better figure it out, because it was coming for you," he says.
Now, with the vision of me standing in front of a broken Casita, I figure out I must be hurting the magic.
But just to be sure, I take it apart and flip it over, rebuilding it again to see if there was anything else.
And it just so happened to be Mateo, laying unconscious in a pile of ruin while I crouched figure leans over him, the hood pulled up on the figure so I don't know who it was.
"Miraboo! Got your party pants on 'cause I..." My Papa says, brusting into my room without warning. I quickly turn around and try to hide the vision with my body.
His face drops immediately and it's obvious from the glowing green coming from behind me that I was up to something.
"I... broke into Bruno's tower with Mateo. We found his last vision. The family's in trouble. The magic is dying. The house is breaking. Luisa gift is fading. Mateo is in a part of the vision and seems either dead and unconscious and I think it's all because of, me?" I rush out, getting it all out of my system.
He pushes me away to look at the vision, seeing the side of Mateo so I quickly flip it over, showing the side of me as well. He still hasn't said anything and it's worrying me.
"Pa?" I ask. The doorbell is heard in the distance and Papa turns to me, holding me shoulders tightly and then began to pack up the pieces of the vision.
"We say nothing. Abuela wants this night to be perfect. So until the leave, you did not break into Bruno's tower. The magic is not fading. The house is not breaking. Luisa's gift is not fading. Mateo is not going to be hurt in any way. No one will know," He says softly.
But a little squeak is heard from outside, both me and Pa turning our heads toward it to see Dolores standing right there, having heard everything.
"I know," she says and squeaks again, leaving in a hurry.
"She's gonna tell everyone," I say.
"Time to eat!" Abuela calls. This is going to be a total nightmare.
*Time Skip because I'm to lazy to write the entire dinner* Stating off at Dolores spilling everything.
"Mirabel found Bruno's last vision. She and Mateo are in it. She's going to destroy the magic, Mateo is going to end up getting severely hurt and now we're all doomed!" Dolores spills, her hands covering her ears.
Now to recap, Dolores told her family one by one, Mateo was banned into his room and wasn't seen all night, I ruined Isabella's proposal and now everyone knows about the vision.
I accidentally slide the plate with the vision over to Abuela, both sides viable. The cracks started up again, this time a lot worse and covering most of the house. Everything was chaos and Abuela looked to me with disappointment. I don't think that could have gone any worse.
