Part 1

Words on screen: Marshall Islands, Kwajalein island.Part 1-Setting: The year is 1944; WWII is nearing its end. The setting of this story is in the Marshall Islands. There was humidity in the air along with the temperature being in the low 80's. There is a U.S. marine 40mm Bofors anti-aircraft placement on the island, the anti-aircraft guns number ten. There are several trucks with trailers attached to each one. There is a large tent in the middle of the trucks as an HQ. There is also a group of cabins as living quarters, lined with tents along the back for additional sleeping quarters. There are radar towers at each corner of the island. Not too far from the large tent, about 5 yards, is an entrance for an underground medical base. There are also five PT boats patrolling the area around the base.

Camera: zooms in from aerial view to a truck that has a man sitting inside the trailer.

Character: The man is wearing a light green combat shirt, light green pants, and a green helmet. The man is white skinned and has black hair and a moustache that is flat and reaches to each end of the mouth, and he also has blue eyes. The man is smoking a cigarette and watching the radar monitor. The man's name is Buck Sergeant John Sterling Byerly.

(Yelling) Buck Sergeant Byerly: Hey, Corporal Nicholson. Anything from your end of the island?

A man of tall and buff structure walks over to the Buck Sergeant Byerly from the HQ.

Character: The Corporal is in a full dress uniform and is wearing a pair of muddy boots. The skin color of the Corporal is white, he has green eyes, he has light brown hair, and a goatee.

Corporal Nicholson: You know you could just use the radio to talk to me instead of yelling to possibly alert the Japanese of our position.

Buck Sergeant Byerly: There is no need to be secret, my friend. The Japanese already know we took this place from them. And why are you wearing that outfit again? You know what happen if you get that gear filthy.

Corporal Nicholson: You don't need to worry, I always get this old thing cleaned before any high official comes here.Buck Sergeant Byerly: Hmm, I don't think you remember clearly enough these days. (Turns to the radio, and turns it on) Hey, Corporal Hammer. Can you please remind our dear corporal what happened about two months ago with an admiral coming to inspect us.

(Voice over the radio and while chewing gum) Corporal Hammer,: Sure thang. Lets see, oh yes. He nearly got demoted to private for arriving late and for having dung on his left shirt. I also remember (bubblegum pops) that what saved him was that it was the admiral brought a very young and stupid relative that had been spotted throwing dung at Corporal Nicholson. That relative had a poor, yet true at that, reason for his throwing that dar dung. What was it again, me gum chewing has messed with me brain?

(Smiling and looking at Corporal Nicholson Mischievously) Buck Sergeant Byerly: It was that that little brat had spotted Nicholson running from the ocean to the encampment and was only trying to reprimand him in his own little way. He instead got all the trouble instead of our dear Corporal for his immature behavior. (Laughing) All of it to close for comfort. Thanks Corporal Hammer.

Corporal Hammer: No prob my man.

Buck Sergeant Byerly turns the radio off, leans back on his chair, and puts his feet on his desk next to the monitor.

(Facing downward, and seeming depressed) Corporal Nicholson: All right, all right. How much do I owe you this time?

Buck Sergeant Byerly: How about, another drink at the good old bar at home.Corporal Nicholson: At this rate, I am going to have to pay everyone here at least a drink. (Laughing) Buck Sergeant Byerly: I doubt that. If that were you would lose your little title of "King of Deals and Bets". All you have to do is just watch your mouth a little more.
