CHAPTER FORTY ONE: ROSALINE

I tried to catch my breath from Evan's kiss as he spoke to me. "No one will ever hurt you again, no one." My body yearned for more when he pulled away. The kiss was totally out of the blue and unexpected. The need behind him was incredible leaving me with an aching core. I wanted nothing more than to curl into his arms and kiss him all night long but that fire was quickly put out with ice cold water as I heard that ear piercing voice ring out through the hallway. "Evan, Oh Evan." Angelica's voice rang out louder as she walked further down the hallway. Evan let out a sigh before stepping off the bed. "Evan, are you here, I have stuff to discuss with you." Evan turned back to me once more. Please dress yourself Pet. His voice was flat as if the kiss we had just shared never happened. My heart sank a little at his bare tone. Nodding my head I headed towards my closet as he headed towards my door. Just as I began to close the closet door I heard her horrendous voice. "Oh there you are Evan, why are you coming out of your Pet's door, let me guess she was out of line once more." I rolled her eyes at her statement. Evan's voice chipped in before he closed my door fully, "No Angelica, I was merely giving her instructions to get up and get dressed for the day." His nonchalant way he spoke like nothing just happened between us hurt me more than I could have imagined. Shutting my closet door behind me so I couldn't hear any more of their conversation I rummaged through my clothes. Smirking, I quickly decided on a pair of lounge shorts that let the bottom of butt show a bit and a white t-shirt with no bra. Making my way out of my room and down the hall to his office I opened the door without a knock. Evan sat in his chair at his desk while Angelica sat on top of his desk fiddling with his tie. Her blonde hair was slicked back with gel and red lipstick was smeared across her lips. She wore a skin tight dress that was split down the middle one side black the other side white. Mentally rolling my eyes I walked through his door. The sudden change in air temperature from his office being much colder made my nipples harden within seconds, my white t-shirt doing little to hide them. Angelica's sickly annoying voice filled my ears as I walked in. "Evan you're really just going to let your Pet barge in your office without knocking or addressing herself beforehand." Shaking her head She continued to go on as Evan's eyes trailed up my body stopped right at my chest before he took a big gulp. As if they were glued there. "Evan, her behavior has gotten even worse since I last saw her disobedient self." Walking right past Evan's desk to my book that sat on his red couch I went to speak up but Evan's voice cut me off before I could. "She's simply coming in here to read, which she has previously been given permission to do." Turning my head towards the couch where Evan couldn't see, smirking to myself I bent down exposing some of my butt in those tiny shorts. Hearing Evan clear his throat I grabbed my book and headed back towards the door. "Sorry Master for the intrusion, I was just trying to retrieve my book." I finished my sentence with a pair of puppy dog eyes before leaving the room. Walking into the hallway I heard Angelica's voice pipe up. "Evan, Evan are you even listening to me?" I smiled as I made my way down the stairs.

Sitting in the kitchen to my surprise was Alex. A warm smile spread across his face as I walked in. "Rosaline, my favorite little pet. How are you?" He asked while coming up and wrapping me in a bear hug." His hug was surprisingly comforting and inviting. Hugging him back I responded. "I'd be doing better if there wasn't a silicone vampire barbie upstairs that would see me sucked dry at any moment." Alex laughed a hearty laugh. "Angelica would be balsley and horny enough to try and win back her favor with Evan after that night with Luka." I rolled my eyes in response. Alex chuckled, ''Hey Rosie, how about we get you out of the house so the she shark doesn't try to eat you." I laughed about to say no, then I remembered Evan's flat voice and emotionless responses to me after that kiss. "Sure that sounds like fun, let me go change into something better." I said while heading up the stairs. "Don't keep me waiting too long, I bore easily." Alex yelled back while chuckling to himself again. Going into my closet I quickly dressed in a pair of black ripped skinny jeans and an oversized band t-shirt threw on some sneakers and headed back down to meet Alex.

Walking into the kitchen once more Alex obnoxiously grabbed his chest. "Oh my heart be still." he said as dramatically as he could. Slapping his arm I giggled to myself. Reigning his composure he held out his arm for me to grab, "Shall we go on an adventure?" "We shall" I responded back to him.

We drove for a while until we stopped in the city. We spent the day window shopping, Alex told me all the stories of him and Evan as kids and all the things they would do to get themselves into trouble. It was more pleasant than I had expected. Alex was just as easy going and sweet as Evelyn was. Making our way out of the ice cream shop we headed back to Evan's house listening to music and laughing the whole way. I didn't have a care in the world to think of what was to come when arriving back home.
