(y/n)

I'm (y/n) Grady. My parents are divorced so I live with my Mum for half the year in Australia and with my Dad for the other half of the year in Jurrasic World.

About a week or so ago my Mum was killed in a car crash. Am I sad. Hell no. We were never the closest as she wanted me to be the perfect wife.

Whereas my Dad wanted me to be me. He helped me learn how to ride a motorcycle and how to fix them, also he showed me how to handle knifes and guns. Am I grateful for my Dad, absolutely.

As of now I'm boarding a plane to Costa Rica. I find my seat and see an older lady sitting there."Hello sorry to disturb you but you in my seat." She looked at me then at her ticket and said."Sorry my seat is this one let me just move over." Before she moves over I smile and say."No worries, if you want you can stay in the aisle seat and I'll sit in your seat." She puts her hand to her heart and says. "Your so sweet." I nod as I put my stuff in the overhead bins then sit next to her on the window seat, so there is a seat between us.

The flight was long but with the old lady i now know as Glenda to keep me company it was a bearable flight. I help Glenda off of the plane as the elderly get off first. But before we get to the exit a air hostess says"Sorry ma'am but you can't get off yet." I was about to say something when Glenda says."This is my grandchild." The air hostess apologies and we get off of the plane and head towards the ferry that will take us to the island.

When we get on Glenda stays by my side and we find a couple of seats on the top deck. I thank her for her help with the air hostess and she thanks me for helping her with occupying her time on the plane.

When we get to the island we say our farewells and split ways. I walk along the peer and see a person holding a sign that says '(y/n) grady'. I walk straight past them and head towards the main building, where dad said he was going to meet me.

I walk in and see him leaning up against the far wall clearly bored while people watching. He looks at the entrance and sees me there he gets of the wall and starts walking towards me. I run up to him and we meet for a hug halfway. I breathe in his scent of motor oil and dirt.

We leave the building and head towards his Jurassic World jeep. I put my stuff in the back of the jeep and we head towards the bungalow.  "Sooo." He drags out."How's your Mum." I can hear him trying to stifle his laugh. I answer with a semi straight face. "She's doing well she went on a business trip 6 feet under." That was our breaking point. We continued ro laugh and tell jokes all the way to the bungalow.

"I don't know about you but I want to fix my bike." Dad looks at me points and nods."but first dinner" We enter the bungalow and I put my stuff in my room, aka the loft and head back downstairs to the smell of bacon and eggs.

I sit down at one of the stools near the bench as I watch Dad cook."Hope you like breakfast for dinner." I nod."well I'm happy as long as it is edible." We both laugh. "You know what would be great at a time like this." Dad thinks out loud." I think for a second and jump off of the stool and turn on the record player. I then run back to my seat as dad turns around he shakes his head.

We eat dinner, joke around a bit then head outside to fix dads bike. "I got you a present.go and open the shed." I do as told and see a the most beautiful thing ever. A new motor bike."So what do you think?" I turn to dad and hug him. We bring the bike out and I paint it a matt black then I adjust the steering accelerator and break system to my liking also  giving the engine a once over.

By the time I'm done the sun is setting I look to dad and we nod having the same idea. We put the bikes away and walk over to the mini fridge grabbing out a bottle of cola each. There is a nice silence between us as we walk down the short peer and sit on the end to watch the sun set. Once it is completely dark the two of us head back to the bungalow and call it a night.
