Julia Miller's POV
I arrive at the gang house as fast as I can after grabbing my car from outside the uni grounds.

'Yo guys,' I greet Dylan and Ryan at the door, who start walking with me immediately.

'Miller' they answer in unison.

'What's going on?'

'Elise got attacked by that stupid girl,' Ryan hisses. He's protective of us, we all are.

'Wait by our mission? Why?'

'Because she thought Elise was interested in Charles or something, who knows. This bitch is crazy. And she was talking about that Elise punched one of her friends.'

Oh, that might be my fault. We walk into the room where Elise is laying. She's a bit roughed up here and there but nothing too bad on the outside.

'Hey,' she says.

She sits up straight, ready to get out of the bed.

'Ey, stay down. What hurts?' Dylan pushes her back softly.

'Just some broken ribs, which ripped open some organ which is why they needed to operate. But who cares? I live.' She chuckles pushing Dylan's hand away and getting up.

'But what happened once I was gone?'

'Yeah you left with some girl huh?' Elise gives me a flirty look.

'Yes, the girl from the ally remember her? She's one of the besties of our target.'

'No way!' Dylan looks at me.

'Yes way. So I can't break it off how badly I want to. She even has my number now.'

'That's great. Then we're just working our way into their friend group,' Elise starts reasoning.

'Wait, something is up. What is it?' Dylan inspects me. He knows.

'Uh nothing.' I rub my neck, trying to avoid their looks.

'You're interested, aren't you?'

'No?' I put a fake smile on my face trying to convince them, but I know it's not helping my case.

'Oh damn you are, Miller? I wouldn't have guessed that would ever happen again.' Dylan looks me up and down.

'Enough of this. We need to figure out what to do with Elise who forms a threat to our target.'

I try to get back to the mission, but I know my friends are way more interested in the girl that's on my mind. Last time it happened I could hide it well enough for everybody but Dylan. He notices things too fast, for sure when I have a crush. But last time I just took my distance which was possible, but it's not now.

'Pff, boring' Dylan groans.

'We could just drop her for this mission? Give her a few days off?'

'No, I don't want any days off.'

'Well you will have to, it's your fault.'

Dylan and Elise start having a little argument. These two could never agree.

'I never beat anyone up over there!'

'Stop you two! I was the one who beat the guy up, but we can easily make up an excuse that she doesn't have to sit on the sidelines.'

'Wait, you beat that guy up?'

'Yeah, he didn't want to leave me alone.'

'Stupid.' Dylan gives me a slap against the back of my head.

'Why? Nobody knows it was me apparently? And who cares? He was drunk or whatever.'

'Fine, now let's figure her out first.'

'We need to invite those guys for your birthday party.'

I point at Elise. It's just being smart to offer them a good time instead and like make them forget about it.

'Why? You just want to party?'

'That too, but also if you invite them it shows that you don't have anything bad against them and we're all good.'

'Wow, yeah. That sounds like a good plan. But how are you planning to invite them without making it suspicious?' Dylan questions.

'By saying it is to put the two together. Shows that we only want the best for Charles and this chick.'

'Okay, you really are smart then huh?'

'I know.' I pat myself on my shoulder, but Dylan takes his revenge and gives me a slap on the back of the head.

'Hey!'

'You deserved that.'

'Stop the bickering. I think it's a good plan,' Elise interrupts us.

'See, someone else thinks I'm smart.'

Of course as mature as I am I stick out my tongue to Dylan. He answers by slapping my head again.

'Bitch.' I slap him as well.

'No! Stop it. What day are we going for a party?'

'Thursday. It's going out night for students then. Just invite the whole uni if you have to, but they need to be there. We need to make sure Tess trusts Charles.'

They both nod at me and I leave the room together with Dylan.
