Zoa yawns and stretches, feeling exhausted after a long day. She checks her watch, sees that it’s midnight and turns her head to tell Jihan that she better gets home only to see the woman asleep, leaning against the armrest of the couch.
It’s a sight she hasn’t seen in years and Zoa finds herself smiling as she looks at the adorably innocent sleeping face.
Carefully, she fixes the quilt covering Jihan's body then leans down to softly kiss her on the cheek.
Good night, Jihan. I’ll see you tomorrow.
She has just rubbed Hyobi's head and is about to put on her coat when she hears a muffled groan and shuffling from the living room.
“Zoa?” comes Jihan's hoarse voice.
The red haired walks back inside to see Jihan dragging her slippers, eyes half closed.
“Why are you up? Go back to sleep,” she says as she opens her arms, letting Jihan sink into her embrace. “I need to go home. It’s really late,” she whispers. “And both of us are tired.”
Although it’s been a very memorable day—with their first fight and first kiss happening all in the span of merely hours—it’s also been a very physically and emotionally draining day so Zoa can’t wait to go home and jump into her soft, warm bed.
“But I don’t want you to go,” mumbles Jihan, her arms firmly wrapped around Zoa.
“I’ll be back first thing tomorrow morning.”
“The snow… roads are slippery.”
“It has stopped snowing. I’ll be fine. I promise I’ll drive slower than a grandma,” jokes Zoa before she places another kiss on Jihan's temple, unable to resist how adorable the woman is being right now.
Jihan moves her head back, squints at Zoa and frowns cutely. “Tomorrow morning?”
“Tomorrow morning. I promise. We’ll grab brunch or something.” Zoa withdraws her hands, makes sure Jihan doesn’t topple over and takes a step back. “Bye. Go back to sleep.”
The brunette walks Zoa to the door and waves goodbye.
Once Zoa's gone, she lazily brushes her teeth, changes into a pair of pajamas and removes her make-up before crashing on the bed, falling asleep instantly.
The next morning, she wakes up early and checks her phone only to see an unread good night message from Zoa. It brings a smile to her face to read the short and sweet message first thing after waking up so she quickly types a reply, hoping to be able to bring the same smile to Zoa's face.
“Good morning. Sorry I didn’t read your message earlier. I hope you slept well. Come over whenever you want, okay? We can go get brunch or just hang out or basically do whatever you want. Just take it easy and let me know later.”
After she has sent the message, she lazily rolls around for a moment before Hyobi's constant barking draws her out of the comfort and warmth of her thick blanket.
She feeds him and goes to wash her face and brush her teeth. Then she stands frowning in the kitchen, contemplating on what to eat.
As soon as she decides on simple toast and jam, the doorbell rings, stopping her from popping the bread into the toaster.
“Now who could that be,” she mutters under her breath as she goes to take a look.
A very familiar face appears on the display on the wall and Jihan quickly fixes her hair before running to get the door.
