"Kayce, listen find me a lawyer and remember I love you." The officer pushed me into the backseat of the car my eyes staring at my husband through the tinted window. His hands bawled into fists at his side, a scowl on his lips.

The prison door opened for police officers to escort me outside to see my husband at the front desk with bail money. "Kayce..." He slides the cash to the sheriff not wanting to play games. "I'm bailing her out. If you wanna press charges on somebody do it on me." I start to step forward telling him no but the sheriff cuts me off. "The charges are already in effect. As soon as she walks out the door she'll no longer be a Livestock agent." Kayce slammed his hands on the counter. "I'm damn Livestock Commissioner you can't fire her!" The sheriff gets to his feet aiming a threatening finger towards him. "If you come any closer to me sir, I'll lock you up. Be grateful I'm not pressing any harsher charges on her head for firing a firearm not in her name." Kayce sighs heavily watching the cops remove the hsbdcuffs from my wrists directing us out the door. I see the helicopter is here making me think of our twin babies as I climbed in the passenger seat. "How are the kids, the twins are they okay?" Kayce glanced to me as we lift off the ground flying us back to the ranch. "They're fine. Dad's been taking care of them after he ordered me to bring you home no matter what." He clears his throat landing the helicopter on the lawn a few feet from the house. "I - I'm sorry. I'm sorry for not having you get cleared. Cause now it's on your fucking record-" I reached for his forearm making him stop pacing in front of me after we got out of the helicopter. "Hey don't blame yourself Kayce. It's my fault for not becoming a deputy....the sheriff is wrong."

"Y/n, hold up. What do you mean!" Kayce hollers out as I race up to the main house bursting through the front door seeing John sitting on the couch with the twins laying in his lap. Bree and Tate are outside playing on the porch. "Well it makes me happy to see your home Y/n." Heading for the desk with all the legal documents I pull all of them our onto the table hearing the front door get closed by Kayce. "Can you give me a clue what you're looking for?" Flipping through files I pray that Jamie had made a legal document about it to save my place as a Livestock agent. "Sheriff Haskell made us deputies in a field. But I doubt Jamie wouldn't make a legal document that clearly certified me and Kayce to carry a gun....ha found it!" I cheer in victory John and Kayce handing the paper to my father in law, he reads it aloud. "It in is under my acceptable judgment that Kayce John Dutton and Y/n M/n L/n were rightfully appointed deputies of the Montana Police Department. I Sheriff Haskell, give approval to both agents that they legally can carry a firearm." John pauses wiping away tears after reading it. "He signed it the morning of the attack on this family. Take this to the sheriff immediately. Make this a warning to him to not pick a fight with this family."

Kayce folds the form up into his pocket as his father left the room I sigh in relief as I put the other documents back where they were. Slowly I sit down cardiling Elsa in my arms as she sleeps. He comes to sit down beside me pulling Dallas into his lap with his blanket. "I can't believe the sheriff tried to lock you up. Haskell never did, because of my brother..." Lifting my eyes up staring into his I kiss my daughters forehead wanting to just stay right here with them forever, but a war is coming from all sides apparently. "Jamie covered up all the bodies for us that's the difference....hey I'm gonna borrow the truck deliver that to the new sheriff." He started to suggest coming with but I had someone else in mind. "I'm gonna bring Ryan, just so we get through this without violence Kayce." Leaning down I kiss his cheek laying Elsa down beside her brother. Exiting the front door I stride up to Ryan who's dismounting his horse, his eyes read my body language. "Who we gonna hunt today?" Shaking my head I hold up the document for him to see. "No one unless you count the new jackass sheriff who tried to lock me up. Come on I want you to ride with me, keep me in check." He puts his horse up climbing in the Yellowstone truck with me.
