Chapter 9 Peaceful/flashbacks/Trust

Me and Zerø laid asleep on the soft blanket that I set out. I wake up first and I look at her, her head laying on my chest not a care in the world, her eyes peacefully shut.

I smile while I watch her sleep and play with her hair lightly so I don't wake her up, "you look so peaceful..." I whispered lightly, her reaction was to just curl up to me more.

I lay my head back and I look at the night sky, watching the stars glimmer and sparkle. I feel Zerø shiver so I cover her with the extra blanket that I brought out with the others just in case if it was cold, she stops shivering and she calms down.
I smile to myself and I check the time "it's 3:00am" I say to my self.

I look at Zerø {should I wake her up?} I thought to myself. I shake her lightly by her shoulder "hey wake up we gotta to go." she shakes her head "I wanna stay here..." She replies with a cute sleepy voice "Are you sure?" She nods.

I lay down and put my arm around her and I close my eyes...

"Goodnight."

Zerø's POV
I feel Max's arm go around me and I smile to myself blushing a deep red. She is making me realize that not all things in this world are dangerous.

Before I came here I was happy and with my parents.
I made friends but... I made 3 friends whom were a waste of time.

Victoria and her minions mostly was a big waste of time but I didn't know what they were capable of..

*Flashback*

I walk around in the winged mall looking for a dress and some stuff for prom until I see my mother walk up to me and she looks angry about something.

"Hannah Sun Lovell!"

Oh no what did I do?

"I told you to stay away from the border!"

"What?"

"Don't play dumb with me. Victoria Covet told me everything!"

"What do you mean? I haven't gone by the border I've been here this entire time looking for a dress."

"Hannah I will not have you lie to my face. Come now."

I follow her to her office of where she decides a fate to whomever crosses her or doubts her judgements.

"Hannah as much as I love you I cannot have you make a mockery of my parenting choices. There is a punishment I have to do by law that will hurt me more then you. But by law I must throw you down from heaven."

"W-what? No please mom.. please believe me I didn't go to the border. PLEASE."

A tear falls from her eyes as tears flow through mine. She leads me to my dad whom has two guards at his sides, my father's face riddled the look of unbearable pain. They take me to the place where I never wanted to go...

They take my wings from me leaving only the base of them protruding from my back, the feathers I have left stained with the blood that was spewing from me...
