Feng's POV
"Hee-hee-hee"
My best friend giggled at my blushing face. She was enjoying the squirming mess that was me. I was thinking of a way to change the topic when the waitress arrived with our food. I began eating quietly, hoping that she wouldn't question me further. After a couple of bites, I realized that she hadn't started eating. I look up to check on her, which was a horrible decision.
"So, you gonna confess anytime soon?" The funeral parlor owner asked me. She hasn't looked stopped observing me since we arrived Wanmin Restaurant. "Do you want me to help you write another love poem or something Feng?" I could feel my face getting redder from that. Her giggles were taunting me.
I look over at the chef of the restaurant with a questioning gaze. She was a friend of mine who helped me deal with Hu Tao sometimes. She told me it was because of pity, but I'm pretty sure she just wants to get revenge on Hu Tao for all the pranks she's pulled on her. She winked at me then returned to her work.
Hu Tao finally took a bite of her food, to which she immediately gagged on it. She started screaming––at least attempted to scream without spitting out her food. She said something along the lines of condensate or something. Once she managed to swallow her food, she saw my smirk and began threatening me with burials.
Xiangling served Hu Tao a proper dish with a smirk. She winks and leaves Hu Tao to eat. She took a cautious bite, which turned out to be fine. She took a few more bites before she began to grill me more about my crush. She kept grilling me between bites when the successor of the Feiyun Commerce Guild interrupted her.
"How's my little snowflake doing?" The "Snowflake" he was referring to was me. He nicknamed me that when we became friends back during sword training. He was two years older than me, so we didn't really have any classes together. But my white hair made me stand out from the other trainees, thus making me a prime target for him.
"Don't worry, I won't stay too long and interrupt your date."
Date? What does he mean by that? He knows that Hu Tao and I are just best friends.
"You got it wrong Xingchen. If that were true, then she and I would have been dating for years." I replied. I looked to Hu Tao to back me up, but she remained silent. She continued to eat her food, forgoing all attempts to look at me.
The three of us waited for each other to speak, but to no avail. After what felt like an eternity, Hu Tao stood up and placed some mora on the table.
"I just remembered I have a consultation with someone right now." She said to us as she exited the restaurant.
Xingchen and I didn't move even after she left. I turned my head to to the Feiyun's successor. He still hadn't taken his eyes off of the door. When he finally turned to me, I saw the guilt coming from his eyes.
He whispered 'sorry' into my ear and proceeded to exit the restaurant as well. Leaving me all alone at the table,

After I payed for the food, I headed straight for Wuwang hill. It was a place he always returned to as it held his most precious memories. I sat on the highest rock and admired the scenery below me.
Why did Hu Tao run away like that? I had known her long enough to know when she was lying her not. This resulted in me being deemed "not fun to prank" according to her. I tried remembering what had happened inside the restaurant.
Why did the happy-go-lucky Xingchen look so guilty? That was another question that popped into my head. He was never the type to look so down when something goes wrong. He tends to just laugh it on and move forward with his life.
