When octopuses set their eyes on prey, their first instinct is to disappear into their surroundings. They wait patiently for their unsuspecting victims to pass by. Only then do they reveal their hiding spot. It's all about adapting to the environment, blending in with whatever is in the vicinity. To the human eye, it's a seamless transition, a quick disguise.

I watched a documentary on this a while back. It had caught my attention, and it still has, but the main message stuck with me. That you must accommodate to the challenges that life decides to throw your way. Every single one is just an obstacle, a symbol of how hard you're willing to work and jump over the next hurdle.

I can watch the octopuses for hours. How they switch colours like they've done this a million times before, or how they utilize their eyesight for the better. I watch the octopuses adapt.

And yet, even as a human, I find it quite hard to adapt to the obstacles in my way.
