Ring ting rang the breakfast bell. Farsight was already awake though. She was so excited that she could barely sleep. She ran to the kitchen where her family was already sitting. "Good morning." She whispered then began eating immediately. "Someone's excited." her father said with a little laugh. "I'm also really nervous, I won't know anybody." She said still chewing. "Blackout and Starspeaker are going and you know them." Her mother said kindly. "Right, but I won't know anybody else!" After finishing her breakfast, she got up and headed for her room. "You better go pack. We are leaving soon." her father called after her. In her room, she packed a few scrolls, her jewel box, and a small drawing Star had given her. "Ready to go?" her mom called. "Ready," Farsight called back, throwing the last things in her bag. She ran to the front door where her family was waiting. "Let's go." She said with a smile.
When they got to the school Farsight saw many dragons of so many different tribes. As she landed at the entrance to Jade Mountain Academy she started to feel more and more nervous. She'd never been to a school with every tribe before let alone a real school. She had always been homeschooled, this was all going to be new to her. I don't like change! But my parents think this will be good for me, so of course, I should go. I'm sometimes so focused on being careful that I forget to have fun, and hang out with her friends. So, my parents think this is the solution! No, no, no! I should go, but can't I stay home? No! Blackouts going. Farsight took a deep breath, said goodbye to her family and they left. As she stood there, thoughts from all the dragons, like, I hope everyone will like me. Or, I hope no one here thinks I'm dumb. Trying to deal with the headache, Farsight barely noticed as a Sandwing walked up to her left, staring at the same entrance. She gave a determined sigh and smiled. She had light yellow scales with more bright yellow scales here and there, and hazel eyes to complement her otherwise black sclera. She had a small pouch around her neck and small bits of jewelry here and there. She was quite large, about the size of a 7-year-old, yet she looked Farsight's age. This strange dragon puzzled Farsight. She had an oddly quiet mind, in fact, farsight couldn't hear anything coming from her at all, except for a quiet hum. She finally turned to farsight and stretched her talon out for her to shake. "Hey, I'm Brightsting, it's nice to meet you..." she said, expecting Farsight to give her name back. "H-hi. I'm Farsight. It's nice to meet you too." Farsight said softly, taking her talon and shaking it. "Well, Farsight, as I said before, it's lovely to meet you." She smiled friendly, putting her talon back on the floor. "Do you know which Winglet you're in?" she asked. "Well, yes, and no. Yes, because the scroll said I'm in the Diamond Winglet, and no because I have no clue what a winglet is!" Farsight said with a nervous smile. "Woah! I'm in the diamond winglet too! And I already know everyone, in our winglet, so let me introduce you!" "Sure," Farsight said with a more confident smile. Brightsting led her to a cave close to the entrance. The sign above it read 'Prey Center.' Brightsting walked inside and led farsight to a group of six other dragons. Farsight saw a large Mudwing, Male, with Light mud-colored scales and aqua blue eyes. A skinny Skywing, Female, with orange-red scales and light brown eyes. There was also a shiny Icewing, male, with glittery white scales and dark blue eyes. A smiling Rainwing, male, with hazel eyes and blue and yellow scales with some bits of pink here and there. Off to the side was a dazed-looking Seawing with many scars, he had green eyes and was also quite large. But one out of the six, in particular, caught her eye... It was a tall female, with dark blue scales and an all-white underbelly. She had shiny light purple pink-ish wings, webbed talons, and amber eyes. This dragon also had lots of little scars.
Brightsting walked over to the group and as she said their name she pointed to them. The Mudwing was Bramble, the Seawing, was Trench, the Skywing, Flare, the Icewing, Avalanche, and the Rainwing, Bobcat. Lastly, Brightsting turned to the strange dragon to introduce her. "Farsight. This is our winglet, and this," she said pointing to the strange dragon, "is Clearpool. Clearpool is a sea/ice/rain tribrid. Her mom was a sea/ice hybrid and her father a Rainwing." Brightsting said all this still grinning at all of them. "Hello. It's nice to meet all of you." Farsight said to all of them. Clearpool waved and smiled at her and said "Hi, as Brightsting said, my name is Clearpool, and your name, is what again?" "My name is Farsight," Farsight replied with a smile. "Well," Brightsting clapped her talons together "Now that everyone is acquainted, get with your Clawmates and let's go get unpacked!" She beamed as everyone agreed and buddied up. "Farsight!" Brightsting yelled. "looks like were Clawmates! Great huh?" Brightsting said. "What are clawmates?" Farsight asked Brightsting confused. The scroll didn't say anything about clawmates! "Well, your clawmate is the dragon that will be living with you, for the school year. This Is so existing! she was thinking. Farsight nodded, I'm going to have to share a room with her! How am I going to keep my secret! "Let's go ask Faith what room we're in." "Who's faith?" Farsight asked. Faith turned out to be a Nightwing who was the librarian at the school. She was the daughter of the famous Nightwing Starflight, who had also been a librarian. But, he was famous because he had been blind and a former Dragonet of Destiny (DOD for short). They walked up to her and she smiled "Hello, here is your welcome scroll and map of the school," she said. "Your Farsight right?" she said turning to Farsight. "Yes, Why?" "You have the same name as my grandmother," she said smiling. "Hu, I-I didn't know that." "Looks like we have the third cave to the left," Brightsting said interrupting the conversation. As they walked to their cave so many thoughts came to Farsight.
Why did I have to go here!
I want to go home!
This seawing is so dumb!
I miss the Seawing palace!
I'm hungry and I'm going to go eat something.
Hmm, I wonder where Farsight is.
The last thought was undoubtedly blackouts. She caught a glimpse of him walking with an Icewing and a Seawing. Farsight waved and then continued to follow her clawmates. They arrived at their nice cave. There was a ledge with a bunch of blankets on it which Farsight took one. Brightsting went over to a ledge with sand jars and flopped down. Farsight put her scrolls in the empty slot and then lay down on a bare ledge with the blanket. "Hey, Farsight, you want to go to the underground lake later?" "Sure," she said sleepily. She slept for a while and then woke up feeling very hungry. She got up and walked out of her cave. Farsight was walking down the hall when she noticed a large crowd of dragons gathering. She walked over and saw that a small Rainwing was on the floor talons over its eyes. A Nightwing, Sandwing, Seawing, and a Skywing were all threatening the little Rainwing. They were all laughing. That's so mean she thought I must do something. Even though she was scared and way smaller than the bullies, she marched up to them. "Stop that, it's not nice!" "Oooh. like you can stop us!" the Nightwing said, then aimed a punch at Farsight's snout. Suddenly Brightsting came up behind her. "Stop it, Ash," Brightsting said standing between them. The Nightwing named Ash only laughed. "You got lucky. Come on boys, we'll come back later." Then she and her gang left. "Hey, you okay?" Brightsting asked, you should watch out for her. Her name is Ash and she's a big bully. I know her because we went here together last year. Anyway, want to walk to the prey center with me? You look a little lost." "Sure, I was just trying to get there... and I am a little lost." "No worries! I'll help you get around!" Brightsting said, giving her a big smile. As they started walking, Brightsting stopped and said, "It's safer to travel in pairs, you know. Especially with Ash at school. Plus, I can show you where everything is!" "Alright...let's go," Farsight said smiling. They walked into the prey center were now apparently, there were a lot more dragons than last time. All their thoughts were giving her a headache. She tried to cancel them all out but it was no use. When Brightsting said, she was going to go get something for them Farsight barely heard her. Brightsting left and Farsight was all alone in the prey center. After a few minutes, a small pink and yellow Rainwing bounced up to her. "Hi, I'm Petal! What's your name?" she said with the biggest smile ever. "Oh hi. My name is farsight." Farsight said, smiling back at her.
