"I just don't get why I need to be suffocated in clothing," you laughed as Lila secured the concealment-serving scarf over your head. "A shirt and a pair of jeans is perfectly fine,"
It was a little after six in the evening, and now that all of the medical conditions had been fulfilled and tended to, Lila was finally preparing to take you back to her home.
However, it didn't seem like it was going to be as straightforward as you'd imagined.
For a reason that was elusive to you, Lila insisted that you cover yourself from head-to-toe.
The weather wasn't cold, and thankfully it wasn't hot either, for you would certainly have collapsed under the unnecessary heat that would have enveloped you. The manner in which Lila was picking out your garments was rather peculiar.
Of course, she had tried to give you a 'reason' - but it didn't count, for it was a rather silly one.
She claimed that she just wanted to make sure nothing hurt you on the way back home - even the evening wind.
It might have been a plausible reason if the wind wasn't a mere breeze.
You tried to argue, but she had the advantage in that situation, so there wasn't anything you could do.
The ensemble you wore was ridiculous, but you went along with it.
You were in a great deal of physical pain, so it wasn't like you were going to move in an effort to stop Lila's efforts.
"Like I said, I just want you to be a hundred percent safe," Lila let out a breath as she finally finished making you look like you were a human green-screen - only that your clothes were black in colour.
At that point, Mark had already arrived at the hospital, and he had taken all of your returned items with him to the car - where he waited for you and Lila.
The area was pretty quiet now, so you were rather happy to be leaving.
Hospitals had the tendency to border on two extremes, energy-wise, when night fell. It could either become a very peaceful, delightfully nostalgic ambience - or a dark, terribly depressing place to be, and there was never an in-between.
And right then, it felt like that evening was going to be a very depressing one in the hospital - something you did not want to be in the middle of.
Emotional depression was enough - you didn't need the external version.
"Alright, Mark has already fetched some of your belongings from your house, so you'll have your own change of clothes for the next few days," she continued.
"Wait....how did you....get into my apartment?" you asked, feeling curious.
Of course, your most recent memories dictated that you lived in an apartment in the middle of the city, so you assumed that you still lived there.
And from the way Lila responded, you got the impression that you might have been right.
"Oh..." she trailed off, thinking for a few seconds. "Well....two years ago, you gave me a spare key, just in case something happened," she nodded quickly. "So Mark used that. I hope you don't mind,"
"Oh, okay, then that's wonderful," you relaxed. "I don't mind at all. Thank you,"
"Great," Lila still seemed preoccupied, but you avoided the idea of bothering her about it. "Now let's get you out of this hell-hole," she raised her eyebrows. "Just stay close to me, and keep your head down, alright?"
