"Baby, Princess Rest your head,

Momma is here,

You'll be safe and Sound in our bed.

Things may be rough,

but Princess you'll grow up.

Everything will be fine.

You'll find love

even if I don't find mine."

I sing my 2 year old to sleep for the second time tonight. Her eyelids flutter close. I stare at her beautiful face. She lays in our twin size bed. We share the bed at our small apartment. I smile at the girl. She wears mismatched clothes from the thrift shop, but has the most beautiful eyes you have ever seen. Big, and brown. Her little lips pursed tightly as she falls into a deep sleep. I kiss her fore head.

Joy Elisabeth. 2 years old. Born February 10. No father available. Grandma killed in car accident. Grandpa unable to help. Stuck with an 19 year old part time employed mother barely paying rent. Living in a bad city, old apartment, with little to protect her.

She's smart. Content. Smiles more than any child I have ever seen has. Beautiful, playful, loving, and clueless to the terrible life she lives in.

She helps me out by entertaining my dad. He was in an accident too.

*Memorys*

one day he was on a bike ride. He was coming home like every other normal day. My mom was using the car so he had his bike. There were no side walks. He was being legal riding on the right side of the road just like the normal cars. A car came up behind him and thought he had enough room to continue past my dad. Little did they know they would run over my dad. He was stuck underneath the back bumper. My dad was dragged underneath the car for 5 miles. The drivers finally stopped. They threw the bike in the bushes and left my father on the street.

He was put in a coma for 7 months. After those 7 months he woke up. I was so happy and so was my mother. But when we met him in the hospital we found he only spoke Spanish. He was not Spanish- far from it!He had taught it for 2 years but that is all. Neither of us knew the language and prayed for him to go back in a coma.

Our prayers came true. He went into a coma for 2 months. When he woke up he didn't know anything. Everyday he would tell the nurses that the women in the corner was the love of his life. That women had been my mom. Then he told them the girl in the chair was his Princess. And that would be little 15 year Old me. That was all he knew. He could talk, walk, eat, breath, he knew what a doctor was and what they do, he knew what the food they gave him was but forgot all his memory's.

He was in the hospital for a long time and I was at my aunts house for a long time. Finally they let him go home and had my mom take care of him.

5 months later my aunt and mom died in a car accident.

*end of Memory*

My eyes brimmed with tears remembering the times I went to the hospital to find my mom crying and my dad still asleep. I was a mess after my mom died. i still am a mess. I tried to find help but that led to me getting pregnant and then the father left. i was too distracted be deaths and accidents. I wasn't strong enough and never will be.

I stared at my baby girl.

She is MY Princess.

She's my child and the most valuable thing in this house. The only thing I can't loose. Take away my house, my clothes, my job, my dad, and every thing I own, just let me keep her safe. Let her find love. Let her grow up being taught manors and rules.

She will grow up and be a great women.

She will NOT end up like her mother.
