Chapter 2

We walk into the lobby and go to the desk to see a man around his late 20's sitting behind it.

"Hiya, what can I do for you today?" He says with a smile on his face.

"Hi, I'm moving here and I was told to collect my keys and stuff here" I say excitedly but calm. He smiles back and types a few things on his computer.

"Aven Hails?" I nod. "Okay well I need you to sign some things, just like terms and conditions. That sorta thing, it will only take a couple minutes" he says putting some papers on the desk in front of me.

"Thanks" I take them and sit at a couch Amber is at. "Ooo papers" Amber laughs. I read through them and sign what I need too and walk back over to the desk.

"All done?" I nod. He takes them and quickly flicks through them and signs something. "I'll go get your keys" he stands up and goes to a back room.

I hear Amber walk up beside me. "This is actually real. I'm getting my own apartment in LA" I say still astonished that I'm here.

"This is a new start girl" Amber says rubbing my arms. "You need it" she smiles at me. I know I need it.

The man comes back with a set of keys and some more paper. "Here you go. These papers are just the terms and conditions and stuff like your agreement. These are your keys and your apartment 109. I hope you like your new place" he hands me my stuff and walks away.

"Well. What are you doing standing there for? Let's go see your new apartment!" Amber says excitedly. We skip, hand in hand to the elevator. 3rd floor.

We get out once we're at the 3rd floor and go left.
"103, 105, 107 and 109. This is your place Aven"

I get the keys out of my pocket and unlock the door. We walk in and I like it already. It's an open-plan living room and kitchen. There's stairs leading up to a small office sorta space. There's 2 different ways to go. I wonder to the left, leading too 2 doors. I open one and it's like a airing cupboard. The other one turns out to be like a second room with a closet. Oh yea, I got a 2 bed.

Amber joins me in looking out the window of the room. "Your gonna love it here. I can tell" she smiles at me. "Are you allowed any pets?" She questions me.

"I don't know actually" I walk out and into the kitchen. The papers are on the bunker. I pick them up and read it. "No big pets are allowed such as big dogs, you are allowed to look after them from someone else but only a maximum of 2 weeks and you have to inform us." I read aloud.

"I mean it's understandable." Amber shrugs. I nod my head. What is up with me nodding my head today?! I put the papers down and walk to the other small corridor on the right. There's 3 doors. I open the first one and it's like a guest bathroom, it's decently sized. I walk out and check the second one, it's like a kinda big storage room, could be used as another closet or something.

I walk out and Amber shouts out "I'm going to get something from Dunkin' the now, do you want anything?"

"Just get me the same as you!" I shout back. She's shouts that she wont be long. I go and open the door to the last room I haven't checked. It's the other bedroom. It has a joining bathroom and walk in closet. It's perfect for me.

I walk out and sigh. "Well I know how Amber is. She's most definitely not got any money on her so she's went home to get some" I speak to myself.

I decide I'm going to look about the place. I know there's a gym and like a dog walk garden thingy. I pick up my keys and walk out and lock the door behind me.

I hear a snicker but brush it off. I walk along the corridor and as I turn the corner someone screams at me. I scream back and out of reflex slapped them in the face. "Ah fuck! Your not Sam" the guy with dyed hair says.

"Oh shit. I'm so sorry it was reflex" I say but start smiling and laughing. He joins in too. I see he's filing with a camera in his hand. "Youtuber?" I point to his hand.

"Yea. Don't worry I'll blur your face out" he says worried I'm going to go off on him.

"Oh no need. I'm a youtuber as well. Aven Hails" I say smiling.

"Jake webber. Nice to meet ya" he says goofily. "Well it looks like my friend is not coming. Want to be in my video? He asks.

"Uh sure, why not. I need to text my mate but that's it. I literally just got my keys like 20 minutes ago" I say chuckling.
