"Three Kings Day"

Title: "Three Kings Day"

Happy really late three kings day everyone! As a kid, I used to love this holiday, mainly because of the presents, but also because of the tradition. So this is a very special chapter for me.

Punz has never heard about the famous Three Kings Day. Maybe once or twice, but still had no idea what it was. When their partner explained it to him, he was intrigued about celebrating it for the first time. 

"When Jesus was born, The Three Wise Men brought him presents and that's my understanding of why my family celebrates it. It's also part of mine and many other countries' cultures. We put grass in a shoebox, place the box under the bed and wait for the Three Wise Men to bring us presents." 

(Author: that's basically how the holiday was explained to me as a child. I'm Puerto-Rican, but it could have a different explanation in another country. If so don't be shy and write it in the comments.)

You also briefly explained that the holiday to you wasn't exactly about the religious part, it was special because you were surrounded with family, friends, food and most importantly, presents.  

When Luke explained this to his friends, they were all so confused about this holiday. Some have heard of it, yet some haven't. Quackity of course did celebrate it and told Punz how much fun it was for him as a kid. This only gave Punz more excitement into going to your family's home to celebrate it. 

On the 5th you took Luke outside, a shoebox in each hand, and began picking the best grass for the camels. He thought it was adorable how you looked while picking up the grass. He sneaked some pictures and sent them to your parents. Quickly, they thanked him. Once enough grass has been collected, the both of you headed inside and hid the boxes under the bed.

Around three am, the both of you were sneaking around, looking for each other's gifts and hoping you wouldn't get caught. Lucky, you didn't and around 10 am you both woke up and opened your presents. Punz has gotten you a cute necklace with the letter 'L' on it, and you got him a new HunterxHunter shirt he's had his eye on. 

Soon you both got ready and headed to your parent's house. It was filled with family members and food by the time you arrived. Everyone said hello to both of you and began exchanging gifts. Your presents were hidden under your childhood bed. You and Luke looked under and found the presents beautifully wrapped along with some of your childhood toys. 

"Luke, how's your first "Dia de Reyes" going?" Your mom asks. 

Everyone turned to look at him, hoping for a positive answer. "It's going great. So far I've loved this holiday. And thank you so much for everything. The food is amazing by the way." 

"I'm glad you loved it. And you're more than welcome to join us next year." Your grandma said as she handed him another plate. 

Luke didn't seem to say no to more food, so your grandma winked at you. "He's a keeper mi amor." She whispered and kissed your cheek. 

"I know abuelita." 

You watched for a far as your cousins and aunts hung around him, talking to him and asking his questions. This made you smile, knowing that he was going to fit right in with your family.
