The dragoness glared hard at the humans before her, not liking how their hands went for their weapons. They'd been at peace for two months now and she hadn't shown any hostility towards them. But at least they didn't draw their weapons at her.

She walked into the courtyard and settled down, watching the people walk past, every one of them looking at her and keeping their distance. After a few minutes, she noticed someone come over.

"Dragon! Sorry to keep you."

She stared at him for a bit. It was that dumb human from the battle at the spire.

He smiled at her. "How're you doing? Pyrrah, right?" She growled at him, but he just smiled a bit more. "Ah, still not able to speak to me, huh? Well, I guess we'll have to stick with yes and no. So...you doing okay?"

She nodded slightly.

"Are you here on business?"

This time she shook her head, sighing mentally. This was always the hardest part of her visits.

Soren frowned as he looked up at her. "Not on business? Then what are you doing here?"

Her bright blue eyes stared at him, then she lifted a claw and tapped it on the ground twice. Soren just frowned as he looked down at her claw. "Umm...ground?"

She shook her head, then did the same action again. "Claw? Hit? Umm...two?" The dragon nodded, then lifted her claw up to her eyes before pointing at him. The human continued to frown. "Umm...to...to...see..." He hummed, shrugging. "To see...Ezran?"

She shook her head, growling a little at how stupid this human could be. She pointed at him, almost jabbing his armour with her claw. Soren frowned in thought, then looked up at her. "Wait...you...you came to see me?" She nodded, leaning towards him to look closer at his eyes.

He looked away from her. "I'm fine. You don't need to check up on me."

The dragoness stared even more intently at him, a low growl escaping her throat. She could tell he wasn't. She could smell the exhaustion. She leant towards him and sniffed him loudly, then she growled with a snap of her fangs. If she'd been able to talk, she would've demanded the truth from him. Stuck without verbal communication, she just continued growling.

He dared to glare back. "What? I'm fine!" He huffed, turning his back on her. "I'm completely fine."

With his back to her, Pyrrah just growled even louder, then she saw some guards on the wall staring at them and whispering. Humans were so fickle with their appearances to others. She looked at the guard, then leant over and grabbed his cape in her mouth, using it to lift him up off the ground. He began to protest, but she just spread her wings and leaped up into the sky, flying off with him screaming in her teeth. It was only a short flight, but when they landed, they were far from the castle in the middle of a field, alone.

Dropping him so he fell on his butt, the dragoness lay down and looked at him as he stood up, his face red with anger. "What the hell was that for?! You can't go picking people up and flying off with them! What's wrong with you?!"

Pyrrah just stared at him.

Soren stared back at her and waved his hand up in the air. "What?! What do you want me to say?! Huh?! That I'm not fine?! That I'm exhausted and...and tired, and fed up?!" he snapped, turning his back and looking out over the grasses. He took several long, deep breaths. "Do...do you want me to say that...I'm...I'm fed up...of everyone...just pretending like nothing has changed...and that they want me to continue...like nothing is different? Like...I'm still the same?" His head hung in defeat. "...I'm not." He turned around to see the dragoness watching him, listening to him. "My father is dead...my sister...I don't even know about her anymore. I don't know if she can even be saved...I don't...I don't know if I want her to be saved. Pyrrah...I...I don't know...I don't know if I...I can..." He sighed, then sat down on the ground. "Everyone expects me to...to be the same. But...I have changed. Everything is different and...and I'm so tired. I...I don't know what to do anymore. I don't...I just..." He couldn't find the words and just stared down at his hands.

The dragoness stared at his back for a moment, then slowly stood up and walked over to him, lying back down and placing her head on his lap, allowing herself to purr for him.

Looking down, the guard's eyes met the dragon's. They held such sincerity.

Hesitantly, Soren placed his hand on her snout, brushing down the scales in smooth strokes. He wasn't sure why, but the motion was therapeutic. The warmth of this being made him feel better, even if it was just a little bit. He smiled at her as he brushed his hand over her muzzle. "I know you understand me...but I wish I could understand you. I have a feeling you and I would get along."

Pyrrah looked up at him, then closed her eyes, breathing a soft sigh.
