I still tasted of heartache and war

The next day Jacob woke up early to go to work, whenever anyone in this town needed their vehicle fixed they somehow wanted the 18 year old fixing their vehicles. I spent the time I couldn't have with him to go see the Cullens.

Walking in without knocking was something I had grown accustomed too. The living room was just around the corner, I turn around with a sudden quickness at the scene before me. Edward and Bella in a heated make out. I groan.

"I know you heard me walking in Ed!" His light laughter is the first thing I hear. I turn around to see them sitting up now, a beat red Bella sitting behind him.

"I was trying to remove myself but, she's very alluring." I scoff at him before moving towards the stairs to find Alice. But my hand is grabbed suddenly by a startled looking Carlisle. I don't move fearing what might this be from. Edwards over at me in a flash, Bella in his arms like a baby.

"Don't say a word, I'll explain later. Take her to the border." I frown at this as I take Bella in my arms, going to protest why his eyes are so begging for this.

"Please Beth." I do as told and am suddenly out of the house in a flash, running at my fastest speed with the girl in my arms. I run at a speed a couple months ago I would have disbelieved.

"Beth!" I hear a growled out version of my name on my head, it's Jacobs wolf I realize. I make it to the border and stay there as I see two wolves run, one a silver, one a russet, Paul and Jacob. They sniff for the danger before going into the woods I assumed to shift back. Suddenly Jacobs walking towards me in anger, ripping me away from Bella and into his arms. I thought it was a hug, but no, it was inspection for any sign of me hurt.

"Jake it's okay, I think." I say looking at a startled Bella.

"C'mon let's go." He said taking my hand but I stand firm. I look to him and Paul both shaking my head.

"No, Edward said for us to meet him here." Jacob let's out a frustrated growl. Making even Bella take a step back at his angry shaking. I walk up to him, grabbing his arm.

"Get yourself in check Jacob, something happened with them I'm going to wait, you wait with me." I say. It seemed to calm his shaking down, now just glaring slits at Bella, Bella his childhood best friend.

We wait for almost 20 minutes, they consisted of me constantly having to reassure Bella, Paul's look begging to be anywhere but here, and Jacob's brooding. I'd shoot him a glare every time his eyes looked to Bella in disgust, he cared for her I know he truly did, it was just her choices to love a vampire, he didn't like. Edward appeared suddenly, his eyes were hard and worried, Bella runs over to his side. I step forward across the border to him.

"What happened?"

"A vampire, one my family has no friendliness towards decided to pay us a visit. I couldn't risk him finding out about Bella, nor I could risk him finding out about you that's why I sent you away. His mind was blocked, so I don't know if he smelt you or not." He says his voice carrying the emotions he wouldn't show on his face.
