"Yeah get out you whore" My mum spewed at me as she watched from my bedroom door as I threw my necessities into my suitcases on my bed. She had officially kicked me out after one of her friends found my book online and showed it to her, "I don't know where you got those filthy ideas from but I will not have them under my roof" She said again.

Tears were falling into my suitcase as I packed quickly, my mother, my flesh and blood was kicking me into the streets because I wrote an erotic book and got it published, I was 20 years for gods sake, I could do anything I wanted so why was she mad about it.

I knew it would take some time for her to come around to the idea but I thought she might have had a few harsh words for me but not 'get out of my house you slut'.

I threw the last of my things into my bag, grabbing my secret credit card I had hidden inside my mattress and sneakily throwing it in my suitcase before zipping it up. I slipped on my black converses that I had embroidered red flowers onto and the matching black hoodie I had embroidered roses onto the sleeves off.

I wheeled my suitcase out of the bedroom I had lived in for my entire life, past my mother and down the stairs. Her footsteps where right behind me and her cold hand pushed me towards the door when I wasn't moving fast enough.

She actually threw me out, pushing me off the doorsteps so I tripped out of the house. Landing on my knee and scraping the acid washed blue jeans across the concrete, getting soaked as I landed in the puddle that had formed from the rain.

She didn't even say anything as she turned and shut the door behind me. I tried to stop the falling tears but couldn't, trying to think of where I was going to sleep or how I was going to eat, my credit card didn't have much money on it, my next royalties from my book didn't come in for a week.

I got up to my feet, ignoring the glances from the nosey neighbours as the light rain dropped onto me. I got my phone out my jeans pocket, thank god I brought my own phone and payed the bill for it or she would have probaly wanted it back.

I scrolled through my contacts, finding my best friends contact and calling her. "Hey Ave what's up?" She asked, I tried to get out my words but instead a small whimper and sob left my lips "Avery what's wrong?" She asked now in a panicked tone.

"I got kicked out" I managed out over a few cries. I felt so stupid and so embarrassed, a young girl dressed as Cinderella pranced past with her mother following behind, throwing me judgemental looks. I was so upset I couldn't even think of a snarky remark to say in my head about her

"I'll come and get you, where are you?" Penny asked.

"I'm outside my house...but I'll meet you at Ron's diner " I said, a few more words were exchanged before the call ended. Ron was a friendly older man in the community, he owned a cute little 50's style diner and he was so sweet.

He even supported me when he found out about my book, letting me write at the diner, giving me drinks and food even when I couldn't pay for them. Even letting me meet my publishers at the cafe and giving them food and drinks that he would say I had paid for so they thought better of me.

I left the small gated front garden, giving the house I had known my whole life one last glance before walking down the road, towards the 50s diner that was wildly out of place in the mostly empty British streets. It seemed like it would have fit in more in America or something. I didn't know though, I've never traveled.

I wheeled my suitcase in the front door and heard Ron's soft spoken voice instantly talking to customers and his staff. "Of course you can leave, just hang up your apron and take my coat off the hook, you shouldn't walk in the cold" He said to one of his younger staff.
