Back at hogwarts, Hope couldn't help but feel grateful for having met her friends who gifted her a whole box of chocolate frog and different candies. She had completely forgotten about the feud between her and Ashley. She even wrote to Daniel, assuring him that she was fine and she would take care of herself.
It was her first day back at hogwarts and she was already exhausted after attending her classes without even a single free period. Hope decided to relax for a while and so made her way towards the forbidden forest.
She dropped her bag on the ground and slowly sat down, bringing her knees closer to her chest. She sat there for a while, looking around while the soft breeze wrestled with her brown locks. She closed her eyes to enjoy the weather but quickly snapped them open when she heard footsteps approaching her.
"Hey." She smiled, unsure of what to say as Theodore walked up to her. He passed her a small smile and asked if he could sit down next to her to which she replied yes with a smile.
"I didn't know you would be here." Theodore started, turning a bit to face the brunette properly. "I just needed some fresh air." Hope shrugged, tucking a strand of her brown hair behind her ear,"What brought you here though?"
"I saw you sneaking out so I thought I would give you some company." Theodore smiled heartily making Hope look down due to the blood rushing up to her cheeks,"Hope you don't mind."
"Of course not." Hope immediately looked up, giving him a smile of assurance.
"How was your christmas though? Did you enjoy it?" Theodore tried to initiate a conversation, wishing to hear her voice.
"It wasn't great like the last time." Hope honestly answered,"I had fun but I got in a fight with Ashley ─"
"Who's Ashley?" Theodore interrupted her and Hope realized that she hadn't even told him who she lived with as she was an orphan.
"She adopted me from the foster home I was in." Hope lied smoothly earning a nod from Theodore,"So yeah, we have some misunderstanding right now but I just hope that everything gets alright as the time passes."
"I'm sure it'll be alright." Theodore said, keeping his hand on Hope's shoulder which startled her a bit and he immediately pulled his hand back,"Sorry."
"It's fine." Hope muttered, feeling embarrassed by the awkward encounter. Theodore stole a glance at Hope to find her staring down at her lap which made him feel like he shouldn't have placed his hand on her shoulder.
Don't cross the limit theo, He mentally scolded himself.
"Do you like sweets?" He asked, trying his best to diverge Hope's attention away from the awkward contact and it seemed like it worked as a grin spread on her lips.
"Of course I do." She nodded,"That is why you lots gifted me this big box of chocolates right?"
Theodore chuckled,"I meant home made sweets?"
The question made Hope to frown and think for a while before she sighed,"I don't know. I've never tasted home made sweet. Ashley kinda hates cooking so yeah."
"Oh that's awful." Theodore commented,"Would you like to taste some?"
"I would love to." Hope nodded, the smile never leaving her face as she got up and followed Theodore back to the castle.
"My grandmother makes the best sweets literally! Like the only thing I like about christmas is the delicious food and sweets." Theodore ranted on his way back to the slytherin common room while Hope listened each and every word with a lot of interest. It wasn't everyday that she heard theodore nott rant about his love for sweets.
"I used to stole some from the kitchen when mother wouldn't let me eat." He laughed at the memory,"And I would get grounded but it was worth it."
Entering the slytherin common room, theodore's rant died down in the loud commotion. Hope's eyes met with Pansy's and the former mouthed 'I'll be back soon' to which Pansy smirked when she noticed Theodore besides her. Hope rolled her eyes at Pansy's smirk and followed theodore to his dorm and was very thankful when she found it was empty.
"Here have some." Theodore smiled, pushing a cardboard box towards her. Hope opened the box and smiled at the sweets lined up neatly.
"Thank you." She grinned and picked up one of the sweet, melting in the delicious taste as she gulped it down.
"It's so good." She gushed and all theodore did was smile at her chubby cheeks, stuffed with the sweets.
