Chapter 1

There is a loud bang on my door as I wake up. It's probably Mirabel waking everybody up. I get up and put my curly hair into a ponytail.

As I exit my room I see my twin Camilo leaving his. "Goodmorning Y/n!" He says spinning me in a circle. Abuela yells from downstairs "Breakfasts ready!" "Casita get us to the kitchen!" Camilo yells in excitement he really likes breakfast. Casita makes a ramp for us to slide down to the kitchen.

"Good morning Dolores!" I say giving her a hug as we dish out our food. "We will be helping the town today, so everyone be on your best behavior." Abuela says glaring at Camilo and I as we were trying to steal food off other people's plates. As we are cleaning up I sneak some food into a bag and head upstairs to the painting that leads into the walls.

I've known where Bruno has been since he ran away. I get to his "room" in the walls and knock. "Tío Bruno, are you awake yet?" I ask the door opens and Bruno rubs his eyes. "Ah, Y/n what are you doing here so early?" "I brought you some breakfast!" I hand him the bag with the food and hug him. "Well I'll be on my way now. Abuela has us spending the day helping the town so I better be going!" I say smiling. Bruno isnt as bad as the family and town makes him seem. He never wants to hurt people he just tells them stuff they might not be ready to hear yet. "Thank you for the food Y/n!" He says as he hugs me goodbye.

As I leave Casita I had a bunch of people asking me for help fixing things. "Y/n! My son he got his head stuck in the railing of the staircase!" A townsman say running up to me. "Let's go get him out then!" I say as we run to the mans house. "Hey buddy, I'm gonna get you out." I bend the wood away from the kids head as his parents pulled him out. "Thank you Y/n" the young boy says hugging me.
