A city glimmers in the midnight sky;
Hidden from beings with untrained eyes.
A girl plays war with her urchin friends,
While the war in the North will not soon end.
A bear treks across a great land of ice,
His armor is gone; he's paid a great price.

A woman, a monkey, a pelt of gold--
A tale, a story, truths left untold.

The girl travels far away from home,
With a woman who is little known.
Lies are unraveled and secrecy dies;
The girl escapes from prying eyes.
She travels a land of water and ice,
With men willing to sacrifice;
A battle breaks out across the snow.
She is taken from what she knows.

Warmth is found in the coldest of places,
With dying eyes and worn-out faces.
Children babble and wish to be free;
With one simple pull comes victory.

Another journey leaves her alone;
But a battle engraved history into stone.
The girl and her friend travel far once again,
To a man, his instruments,
And a betrayed end.
