Sixteen years ago, on 8th October 1984, my sister and I were born. Ten minutes may seem insignificant but to my mother, it was the equivalent of doing the splits on a crate of dynamite. the fact she was sixteen when she gave birth to us, made her story sound way more dramatic.

I have never had an interest in school or books, unlike my sister Rory she's interested in grades, reading. I however liked fixing up my motorcycle, car, etc. We both have similar tastes in movies, music, hanging out with our best friend Lane, or the fact she hasn't talked to boys so she would come to me for all the details. That similarity disappeared on the night of our sixteenth birthday party extravaganza thrown by Sookie and my wonderful mother who I adore.

I walked into the kitchen where I spotted my mother staring out the window nervously while clenching onto a tea towel. Walking over to her to look outside to see what was going on.

My jaw almost dropped when I saw Rory outside in the dark with the new tall mysterious sixteen-year-old boy from school. He handed her a present that was followed by them holding hands and her blushing.

"Well that's a first, don't worry about her mum. She's not going to get her heart broken just get and if she does I'll break him in half. Plus she's a good kid so we don't have to worry about her getting into the wrong crowd." I state honestly next to her.

She looks over at me thankfully and wraps her arm over my shoulder pulling me in for a half hug. "Thanks, Luci." She whispers back.
