After a long train of thought we finally pulled into the station.

I stepped out of the carriage on to a platform full of hundreds of students.
'Nah I'm not doing this' I thought to myself.      'I slept just about a wink on the train I'm not about to sit through the whole of first year getting sorted into their houses before I can eat, I'm not even hungry'

"I'm gonna go to bed when we get to the castle and skip the whole ceremony and dinner malarkey, you coming?"

"Oh, you tired? I'm alright, I'm gonna go and watch Emmy get sorted first then I'll skip dinner I'm not hungry anyway" Alana replied

"Oh god how could I forget?!"

Emmy was Alana's younger sister, just starting first year.

"Okay I'll come with you, watch Alana get sorted then we'll skip the rest, deal?"

"Sounds good" Alana replied

Once everyone had made their way into the hall and sat down, professor magonagal began calling the names.
Lucky for us, Emmy and Alanas second name was Aragonite witch meant if Emmy wasn't called first she'd definitely be in the top ten.

After about 5 names had been called and sorted , Magonagle spoke "Emmy Aragonite"

"If she doesn't get Slytherin I'll never hear the end of it" Alana moaned

"Slytherin"
The whole table was full of cheers and shouts

I had only one thing come to mind - my father.
I looked past all the cheers, to my dad sitting at the end of the professors table, next to Hagrid.
He was staring straight at me - the irony of it all, he didn't have the time to talk to his daughter yet he couldn't sit and stare at her without any emotion for filling his face.

"I've had enough of this now, can we leave?" I said to Alana

"What I front of everyone? Can't we just wait until it's over and dinner starts?" She whispered back

"That's too long, now are you coming or not?"

Alana gave me a blank stare as if she hadn't heard a word I had said.
