Abbey tucked you into bed that night. You had calmed down off the pills, but Abbey had given you another to help you sleep. Even in your high state, you still held her hand tightly when she began to walk off.

"Stay." You mumbled. "I don't wanna be alone."

How could Abbey leave you after that statement? Her heart melted immediately, and she nodded her head yes.

"Be back soon."

You curled up at the top of the bed and watched her walk into the livingroom and out of sight. Your hands grasped onto the sheets tightly to relieve some of the anxiety you felt.

Abbey held her iCoffin to her head and spoke into it quietly.

"Pajamas." She stated.

Headmistress Bloodgood, who she had been staying with before, was on the other end of the call.

"Why do you need your clothes, Abbey?"

Abbey scoffed. "Sleepover."

"Alright, I'll be right there."

And after that statement, Abbey hung up. She trotted back to your room and sat on the edge of your bed. Her icy cold hands swiped a piece of hair from your forehead before lightly rubbing your cheek.

You cuddled into her cool palm, enjoying the feeling it gave of soft chilliness. She smiled at you.

Abbey blushed. She had been smiling around you a lot, and it only increased her love for you. You had brought out an emotion that no one else was able to! Surely it meant something?

What was she thinking. Of course it did! It meant she was your soulmate. Duh!

Abbey stifled a giggle at her own thoughts, causing you to furrow your brows.

"What?" You asked. "What's so funny?"

Your paranoia had set in, and you whipped your head around to look at every dark corner there was. She shook her head.

"No. No." She scolded, and she held your head steady. Your eyes darted around the room, however. Your anxiety had made its roots in your mind.

You allowed a small whimper to leave your throat. She forced your eyes to her, and you allowed them to settle on her.

"Stop. Want more?" She asked, referring to the small bag of blue pills.

You shook your head no.

She tenderly placed a kiss on the top of your head and retreated back to the livingroom.

Your eyes landed on your bathroom doorway that connected to your bedroom. A tall, thick shadow figure stood in the doorway, unmoving and threatening you with its presence.

A loud, chilling screech erupted from your throat, causing Abbey to drop a glass and run to your side. You cried in her arms as she cradled you.

"Who?" She asked. "Who there?"

You cried harder. "There's-There's a-"

Your shortness of breath worried Abbey, and she cuddled you deeper into her chest. Her strong arms formed a protective cage around you, making you feel safe from whoever was in your bathroom.

The figure moved slightly to the left before a single horn formed out from the shadows.

"He's in my bathroom!" You screamed.

"Who??" Abbey questioned again.

You didn't say anything, mainly because you didn't know. Instead, you pointed a shaking finger to the doorway.

Abbey stood tall and stared ahead at the bathroom. She didn't see anyone, but the darkness made it hard to see anything at all. Abbey shrugged her shoulders back threateningly. You remembered her stance being the same one she used in her argument with Aamon.

Abbey stalked off to the bathroom, causing the figure to move further back. She huffed and flipped on the lights. As the lights came on, the figure disappeared. She seated around the tub and shower curtain. Nothing there.

Abbey was more confused than anything. Surely the pills wouldn't make you hallucinate, right?

She shrugged. Either way, she needed to assure you that everything was fine.

Before she could turn around, another ear-piercing scream came from you.

You stared up at the figure on your ceiling. It looked tied there, with its pale, rotting face staring directly back at you. Your stomach began to churn, and the eye contact made your skin burn.

You scratched at your arms, feeling maggots crawl under your flesh and around in your body. It erupted into an itching, fiery feeling. The maggots seemed to squirm uncontrollably. You scratched harder.

Abbey rushed to you and caught your hands in hers. You dug your nails into her palms and thrashed around. Abbey followed your gaze, which had been set on the ceiling. Nothing there.

You could see it clearly, however. It's own skin seemed to hold it against the popcorn roof. The person's - or thing's - mouth unhinged its mouth with a sickening pop, signaling that it's jaw had cracked itself out of place. Then, it screamed loudly. You watched as tears rolled from the figures eyes.

It's tears matched your own, and your scream drowned its gutteral cry out.

Abbey grasped your jaw and blew air into your nostrils. You gasped for breath, calming your screams and redirecting your attention to breathing.

Abbey listened as steady thuds made its way from upstairs to outside of your apartment door. She cringed at the idea of someone calling the cops from your episode.

A knock sent you rushing to the ground and into your bedroom corner. Your phone dinged with notifications and calls. The sounds overstimulated you, and you covered your head protectively.

Abbey rushed to the door at the sound of another knock, and she flew the door open.

Her wide eyes dropped with her realization.

Aamon stood outside the door, his eyes wide and his chest heaving with each breath he drew in. He rushed past her and to your room.

Abbey, who didn't want to give him the chance to interfere, ran after him. She found him on the ground cuddling you, tucking your head against his chest and gently kissing your temple.

Oh, she was mad. She was mad enough to kill.

She pictured herself stabbing him through the eye with an icicle. Aamon stared at her with a similar aggression, yet a tender hold on you. She exhaled.

Calm down. Just long enough to make sure (Y/N)'s okay.
