You carried your bag inside the small beach house that you were soon going to call home. You smiled up at Aamon, who held an equally large grin.

"Home sweet home, right?" He laughed.

You nodded. "I can't believe this is happening."

"Well, of course it is. This is the safest place for us."

"You really think she won't find us here?" You asked.

"Yeah, she seemed pretty determined." Daniel added.

Aamon shook his head. "No, she won't get you."

"And if she does?"

"Then we'll come save you."

You nodded and smiled to the best of your abilities.

As horrible as the situation was, you feared that the brothers would leave you behind more than you feared Abbey.

The two had made such an impact on you that you would never forgive yourself if something happened to them. Part of you wanted to run from them so Abbey wouldn't hurt them. The other part wanted to stay in their protection and comfort.

You looked to Daniel, who was already scoping out the place. He was looking for a bedroom of his choice, destined to find the master bedroom.

You giggled as he yelled out.

"Claimed my room!" He yelled.

"That's not fair, Daniel." Aamon rolled his eyes. "You should've let (Y/N) pick first."

He peeked his head out from the doorway. "Why?"

"Cause she's the lady." Aamon reminded.

Daniel rolled his eyes. "Would you like this bedroom, (Y/N)?" He asked sarcastically.

You laughed. "No, you can have it."

He made a face to his brother before turning back to the bedroom.

"So..what about furniture?" You asked.

"I took out a loan!" Daniel called from his new bedroom.

"Oh!" You gasped. "We get furniture soon too?"

"Today, actually." Aamon grinned. We've got enough for a livingroom and kitchen. Our beds are going to be air mattresses for a while."

Daniel strolled in the room, a freshly lit bowl of marijuana in his hand.

"Get that smell out of here." Aamon groaned. "And I'm sorry we can't afford beds right yet."

Daniel scoffed. "Look, she's just happy to be away from that creepy bitch." He said. "I'm sure an air mattress won't hurt her feelings."

"He's got a point." You hummed.

"I know I do, thank you."

You giggled and rolled your eyes.

Daniel made his way back to his chosen room and flicked on the lights. They were bright, white lights, and it nearly blinded you the moment they turned on.

"Hurry, Daniel." Aamon said. "You're going to make us late."

"Late for what? The furniture store?"

"Yes."

"You can't be late to a damn store." He mumbled, and he slid on his shoes that he had kicked off the moment the door was unlocked.

He walked to the car, the bowl still in his hands.

"He doesn't like clothes, does he?" You noted.

"No, he does not." Aamon sighed as he looked down in shame.

Abbey sighed as she slid her bags into her new apartment. As cheap as it was, she expected to find bugs or disgusting mold everywhere, but to her surprise, it was clean.

She groaned as she lifted the bag and sat it on the countertop. The room had already been fully furnished, and she wandered to the bedroom to see if it was the same.

It was.

She smiled calmly, finally feeling at peace. She would find you. She had a home to take you to. And soon, she'd have a job to support you with.

She thought of the whole cat and mouse game as a good thing. She hadn't been prepared for you before, and she knew that now. But after a few weeks, she should be able to get right back to hunting for you.

She walked through the room, feeling the breeze of the open window that was directly in front of her.

Now, all she had to do was find a decent job, something that would support both of you. It wouldn't be easy, with her lack of job history and high school diploma, but she was sure she'd find the right job somehow.

The universe would make everything work out, she was sure of it.

The task was easy, just find a job.

Just a job.

It wasn't that hard, was it?

No, it couldn't be.

She flopped on her bed and looked to the ceiling. Eventually, she'd have you curled up on her chest, your warm frame preventing her from getting up and leaving.

She'd love to have you back.

But good things always came to those who wait patiently, she believed that one hundred percent.

Abbey curled up on her bed, finally wanting to get some sleep. She thought of you to help lull her into a dream world, and once she had fallen asleep, you haunted her dreams.
