"Welcome to the party van, ladies!" Larry sang as (Y/N) and her cousin Bailey slid into the back seat of Sally's old SUV.  The two girls tossed their backpacks into the back, hearing them thud on top of glass bottles. (Y/N) set the important bag of drinks for the night next to her.
"Bailey that's Larry, and Sally is driving." (Y/N) said, introducing her cousin to the two boys she had grown close to since moving.
"Thanks for having me along guys. I'm so excited." Bailey said, giving her cousin a side hug, shaking her excitedly. "I don't have any friends back home that do stuff like this."
"Well you are welcome with us anytime, babe." Larry said, turning around to face the girls behind him.
"Larry is going to flirt with you the whole night, just so you know." (Y/N) said in a hushed tone, as if Larry wouldn't hear her, though he did - he was still looking at the two.
"(Y/N)-" Larry whined, "You're not a very good wingman."
"Hey, I thought I was your wingman?" Sal cried from the driver's seat.
"Sorry, Salad, you've been demoted." (Y/N) grinned.

The SUV slowly made its way down the trail leading to the campsite. They could all see a dim light in the distance at the end of the trail. A few cars were parked off to the side and Sal parked next to Todd's small car. It was still slightly bright outside, the sun just beginning to set.
"Finally you guys are here." Ashley said as the four friends exited the vehicle. "Trevor is trying to pregame without you guys."
"Sorry, we stopped for more drinks and made sure Sal got something for himself." (Y/N) said holding up the grocery bags. "Plus we got some snacks too."
The two boys grabbed their bags, as well as the two girls bags and made their way to the large family tent that had already been set up. It was a large tent with a common area and four small areas that are able to be closed off like a room. Inside there were several air mattresses set up. Each 'room' had their own, with two extra single mattresses set up in the common area.
A fire was ablaze a couple feet from the tent with folding chairs set up around it. Across the site was a smaller tent which housed Todd's parents. They were just far away enough to keep an eye on the kids, but to be out of their way.
"Bailey, this is Ashley and Trevor and then that's Todd and Neil." She said introducing the rest of the friend group, though  it was her first time meeting Neil and Trevor.
"You guys have no idea how excited I am." Bailey gushed, overly excited to be spending time with someone other than her parents. She knew that her parents would be freaking out if they knew her daughter was in the woods, drinking.
Bailey and Ashley began talking to each other as (Y/N) walked over to put the grocery bags into the tent. Inside, Sal was placing his things into his preferred room of the tent.
He jumped as the zipper to the tent began to unzip. He spun around and relaxed once he saw it was just (Y/N).
"I see you got first dibs on a bed." She laughed as he unpacked the items he would need for the night.
"I always do." He laughed. "Since everyone's already out there drinking, I like to take my time getting my stuff ready before Larry comes in here and tries to puke in it."
"Oh, he's one of those drunks? Gotta puke on everything."
"Unfortunately."
"I am the opposite. I just fall asleep where ever I land too."
"Okay so if I see you laying on the ground ill drag you back in the tent."
"I would appreciate that." She laughed. She sat down beside him on the air mattress watching him gather his chargers and medicines, placing them at the head of the mattress. "Are you excited?"
Sal shrugged, "It gets kinda boring being the only sober one, but it's funny to watch everything that happens."
"Oh I bet. Hopefully something so funny happens that I actually remember it tomorrow."
"Knowing Larry, something will."
"Are you talking about me, Sal?" A voice asked from outside the tent. Larry pressed his face into the netting that made the window of the room.
"Always am, bud."
"Why don't you two get your lazy asses out here and we will get this party started!"
•••
"Jesus Christ, Larry, put your pants back on." Sal whined, watching as Larry drunkenly tried to remove his pants.
"But Sally, I have to, I can't wear them into the water." He slurred, tripping on a pant leg in the process.
"You don't need to be going in the water." Sal said, lifting Larry's small, yet limp body up from the ground. "Why don't we go get some snacks."
"Ooo, snacks sound great."
Sal lead Larry back to the dwindling fire where (Y/N) and Bailey sat, chatting. The two girls had had a few drinks by this time, yet they were not as drunk as Larry.
"Hey you guys! Do you wanna see me get in the water?"
"No, Larry." (Y/N) said, looking at the two boys. "Please don't go near the water."
"Anything for the pretty lady." He said, giving her a drunken smirk.
"Larry, you gotta come try this shit!" Ashley yelled from inside the tent. Smoke poured out as she unzipped the entrance.
"Oh hell yeah!" He howled, waddling over to the tent. Bailey looked behind her and then back at her cousin.
"Can I go try too!"
"I'm not your mom, go for it." (Y/N) said.
"And then there were two." Sal laughed. "I'm sorry you're not having a good time."
"What makes you think that?"
"You're just sitting out here by yourself. You're only like what, two drinks in?"
"I'm a very slow drinker. Plus, everyone's in there smoking and I don't do that anymore."
Sal nodded, "That's understandable. I don't either. Usually I just sit out here and chill while they do their thing."
(Y/N) stood up and grabbed another drink, grabbing something non-alcoholic for Sal. He thanked her and the two sat in silence for a moment. As she finished her next drink, she could feel the alcohol start to set in.
"You've never told me about your mask. Why do you wear it?"
He looked over at her for a moment then back at the fire. "It's a long story."
"Well, by the sounds of the laughter, we probably have a minute."
"Maybe another time."
"Sure. I understand it's none of my business." She chuckled. "I get kinda nosy when I'm drunk."
He smiled to himself, "Other than that I'm an open book."
"Okay, what's your favorite movie then?"
"Oh, no doubt, the Matrix." He said, leaning back in his chair.
"Alright, I couldn't guess that if I tried. You seem more like a comedy guy to me."
"Yeah?" He laughed, "and let me guess, you're a rom-com girl."
"Wrong. Horror movies all the way."
"You surprise me daily, you know that?"
She chuckled, "You're definitely judging this book by its cover and the cover is a façade."
"And why is that?"
She rolled her head to look at him, "You're also pretty nosy aren't you?"
He shrugged, "Maybe."
"It is also a long story." She laughed, "Maybe another time."
"Touché." He smiled, knowing she couldn't see it. Though she smiled back, as if she sensed it.

Hours later, a few people remained awake. Larry, Bailey, and Trevor were passed out in the tent, the rest of the friends sat around the fire, slightly tipsy.
"How about Never Have I Ever." Ashley said, opening a new drink. "Sal you can just drink your drink."
"I'm down." (Y/N) shrugged. "You go first."
"Okay, never have I ever stole anything." Ashley said.
Two out of the remaining five took a drink.
"Okay, uh, never have I ever been suspended?" Neil shrugged, not knowing anything else to say.
Ashley and (Y/N)  took a drink. (Y/N)'s eyes widened as she made eye contact with Ashley from across the fire.
"Okay spill Ashley. What could you have done to get suspended."
"Last year I punched Travis Phelps in the face." She said. "He had just punched Sal and I wasn't having it."
"That kid is an absolute dick." (Y/N) said. "He definitely deserved that."
"Now what about you?" Sal asked, looking at the girl beside him.
"I also punched someone. Except it turned into a little more than a punch. I ended up getting expelled from the school, but we were planning on moving already anyways."
The game continued for multiple rounds until they all dwindled down and receded to their sleeping quarters. It didn't end up being the rager they had expected.
Sal helped a very drunken (Y/N) back into the tent. He opened the divider to the room where the two girls placed their things, but inside was Bailey and Larry, as (Y/N) had predicted.
Sal chuckled to himself, "Looks like you were right, (Y/N)." He whispered, knowing she was too drunk to understand. He helped her to the room where Larry had originally planned to sleep.
"Thanks for helping me, salad." She slurred as her body flopped onto the mattress.
"Of course." He smiled, "if you need me, I'll be out in that area." He said, motioning out the door.
"Can you stay?" She asked, the tiredness starting to offset the alcohol. "I'm scared of the dark." She giggled.
He laughed and sat down beside her. It felt like seconds before he heard her light snores. He looked over and chuckled to himself as she was already passed out for the night. He reached over and shut the battery powered lamp off. Once it was off he removed his mask, sighing at the slight comfort he felt as his face relaxed. He scrolled aimlessly through his phone before he went to sleep for the rest of the night.
