Surprise

(Izuku's P.O.V.)

It's been a few days but I'm finally getting released from the hospital. Apparently I was hurt more then I realized but between the doctors quirks and me using the regenerative properties of some extinct starfish I've healed up good as new if not a little stiff and sore. Just as I finish changing out of the hospital gown and into my street clothes the door to my room flies open as Eri rushes in. I smile and scoop her up causing her to giggle. "Hello there my little chick. You seem excited today."

Eri smiles and nods rapidly. "Yep. Papa gets to come home today!" I smile and kiss her forehead as Kyoka walks into the room. I walk over and kiss her forehead before rubbing noses with her.

"That I do little chick. Have you been behaving for everyone?"

Eri nods and Kyoka smiles. "She has. Now come on miss Midnight and Present Mic are outside waiting with the car green." I let out a few rumbles lifting Eri to sit on my shoulders holding onto her ankles to keep her from falling. Eri giggles and holds onto my head for balance as I walk with Kyoka out of the hospital.

I stand next to Kyoka staring down Yamada's car before I look at Yamada and Kayama. "I am not getting in that deathtrap. I'll walk myself. Kyoka climb onto my back and hold onto Eri please." I turn and crouch down in front of Kyoka who blushes before she climbs onto my back holding onto Eri as her legs wrap around my waist. I stand back up before slowing transforming into my Tyrannosaurus form giving Eri amd Kyoka time to adjust their places so they are riding on my neck. I let out some soft growls and use my snout to shut the rear door of the car that Yamada had opened for us.

I turn to start walking before I stop and look back hearing Kayama speak. "Hold up there big guy. I'm coming with you so you don't get into anymore trouble on the way back." I look down at her for a few moments before I let out some rumbling and lower my head opening my jaws a bit to allow her to use my lower jaw as a foothold. She quickly climbs up and settles behind Eri and Kyoka as I stand and start walking. I hear her yell back to Yamada to meet up at U.A.

I ignore the people I pass uncaring about what they are saying as I focus more on walking to U.A. and the girls talking and Eri giggling on my back. I let out some soft rumbles as I think back to the conversation I had with Eri a few days back. To help learn of her mental state and how to help her I asked her to tell me what happened to her. To say I was angry would be an understatement. For a few hours the only one I'd let close to Eri was Kyoka. I admit snarling and snapping at everyone else was uncalled for but I was beyond furious at that point. It also explained why Eri was so quick to accept my adoption of her. I was the first person to show her kindness and care. I'm hoping with time it'll go from her clinging to that kindness afraid it'll go away to fully accepting that I care for her and that that'll never change. My instincts may having driven me to take her in but in the few days I've interacted with her I've grown to care for and love her as my own.

I'm brought out of my thoughts as I notice a flash of red in my vision. Acting on pure instinct and reaction I growl and snap my jaws at the man with large red wings that's flying near my head making him quickly back away. The blonde man holds up his hands in surrender a smile on his face. "Easy there rexy didn't mean to startle you. Name's Hawks. I was just checking to see if you were up to no good but seeing as Midnights on your back there I'd say not." I snort and keep walking ignoring the now named Hawks. Irritatingly enough he keeps flying around me talking to Midnight. As he flies near my head again I snap my jaws at him making him back off again as an irritated snort escapes me causing him to laugh. "Got it. Stay away from your head or turn into bird food." I growl and pick up my pace heading towards U.A. hoping to lose the annoying bird.

I let out a quiet roar of frustration as right before I walk through the arched gateway of U.A. Hawks floats down and stops right in front of my face. "Hold up for a second. I wasn't only checking to see if you were causing trouble Midoriya. I was also sent to deliver a message from the HPSC. Your hero licensing exam is scheduled for two weeks from now on Saturday thanks to Nezu pulling some strings." I snort in acknowledgement and move past Hawks giving another snap of my jaws in his direction as I walk through the gate causing him to laugh. I turn and immediately start heading towards my building. Once I reach my home I lay down allowing Kyoka, Eri and Kayama to slip off my neck and onto the ground. I close my eyes and relax having worked out some of the stiffness of being stuck in the hospital though I'm still sore.

I open one of my eyes looking down at Eri who is petting my jaw. I let out a content rumble closing my eye again. I shift back and stand up after hearing Eri's stomach growl. I hold my hand out to her smiling softly. "Come little chick let's go get some lunch. I could eat myself. You coming Kyoka?" Eri smiles and takes my hand as Kyoka nods. Kayama bids us farewell then heads off to do her own thing as we head towards the cafeteria. Right as we reach it the bell rings releasing the students for lunch. We quickly get our food and find a spot at a table just as the other students start entering the cafeteria. I smile softly as Eri chats excitedly with Kyoka while sitting between us.

I look up as some of the students from 1-A and 1-B join us at our table. I go back to my meal before I look back up as Yaoyorozu speaks. "Sensi are you feeling alright? Miss Midnight and Kyoka told us what happened while on your date."

I nod shooting her a small smile. "Yes I'm alright Yaoyorozu. Still a little stiff from the hospital bed and sore but otherwise fine. Thank you for asking."

Yaoyorozu smiles and nods. "Understandable. Hospital beds are far from comfortable. A good soak in a hot bath should help with the stiffness and soreness."

I chuckle and shake my head. "If you figure out how to make a river or creek hot I'll take that advice. Otherwise it's the same cold bath as always." I look around at the dumbfounded looks on my students faces. "What?"

I look at Kyoka who's the first to recover and speak. "Are you telling me that you bathe in a creek green?" I nod looking confused. I ask where else one would bathe my voice full of confusion. "In the shower or a tub green. You know in a bathroom. No one uses creeks or rivers to clean up anymore."

I blink slowly in confusion before I rumble and focus back on my meal. "Oh. Guess I'll have to figure out how those work at some point." After a few seconds everyone recovers from my revelation and goes back to eating and chatting.  I smile and join in mostly chatting with Eri and Kyoka. After lunch Kyoka rejoins her class for the rest of the school day. Eri and I return to our little home. Once we enter and I turn on the lights I hear a loud meowing and I smile turning towards Savva and pet her as she purrs loudly. "Hey there girl. I missed you too. You and Eri been getting along." Eri smiles and picks Savva up and I laugh as I see her carry the cat who's almost as big as her over towards the couch. "Guess that answers that question." I smile as Eri and Savva cuddle on the couch. I walk over and sit next to them scooping them up onto my lap. We spend the rest of the day just relaxing and enjoying ourselves. After school let's out Kyoka and a few other students join us before they head back to the dorms for the night. I carry a sleepy Eri into my room and completely ignoring the unused bed I head towards the large pile of blankets and sheets in the corner laying her in the middle before I shift into my raptor form. I let out some soft chittering as I climb in with Eri before curling up around her as she cuddles into my side quickly falling asleep.

Between the holidays and losing what I had already typed out my flow was kinda killed for a bit.  I had this chapter mostly typed out before but something screwed up somewhere and it got erased. Sorry it's so short but I lost my flow for this chapter. Don't worry the next chapter will be much longer I promise. Until next time.
