Today was the first expedition of the new year. My squad and Levi's squad are supposed to check on two bases that had been built a few months ago and find out what supplies need to be sent.
I grabbed my cloak from the couch and fastened it, heading for the door to grab a quick bite to eat and then meeting everyone at the stables. Once I closed my door, I walked down the corridor and knocked on their door. Opening it slowly, I spotted Hanji asleep at their desk again, pen still in hand.
When will they learn
I quietly closed the distance and lightly shook the brunette.
"Psst Hanji.... Hanji wake up I have to leave soon". Some grumbles left their mouth as they began to wake up. They lifted their head up, warm brown eyes looking at me bleary-eyed as they took a moment to fully wake up.
"Mhmmm Y/N... why'd you wake me up?" Mumbling softly, their morning voice sounding so pleasant it took me a second to reply.
"I'm leaving for my mission with Levi and I didn't want to go without saying goodbye". Yawning, they stood from their seat as they responded
"Oh.... right I forgot it was today. Besides we're not doing goodbyes ok. That sounds like we'll never see eachother again". Suddenly they leaned forward and wrapped their arms around my shoulders, snuggling their face into my neck. I slotted my arms around their waist in response as we stayed like that for a while. Just enjoying this warm, comforting feeling.
"Ok... how about I'll see you when I get back then. Does that work for you?"
"I like that". Their voice muffled as they spoke against my neck, causing shivers to shoot down my spine. All too soon they broke away from the hug, pink dusting their cheeks as a comforting smile graced their lips.
"I'll walk you to the stables. Then I can send off Levi aswell".
I hummed in response, too stunned to speak. They tugged my sleeve as they led me out of their office and down the corridor.
After making a pit stop at the Mess Hall we headed towards the stables, I got Apollo all ready to go, feeding him an apple as I brushed his mane.
I could see Hanji talking to Levi, although I could see them glance at me a few times which was odd.
"Hmmm Capt. I think someone's worried for you". Nat teased as she led her horse next to mine.
"Huh"
"Blade come on. Are you really that dumb to not notice". Nat looked like she was about to cry from frustration.
"The Section Commander is obviously telling Captian Levi to make sure you come back safe. It's like they can't keep their eyes off of you".
