chapter 8: life is full of opportunities

maya -
our plan has gone perfectly and i can't wait to have lucas and riley talk. i barge into the matthews residence.

"maya hart. what are you doing?" topanga asks, starting to raise her voice.

"im here to take riley and you can't say no because i need her, now." i scold, starting to search the house. topanga looks into my eyes with a serious look.

"please stay away from my precious daughter. she's having a tough day," topanaga finishes with sympathy in her voice. i just walked past her and i found riley in the bathroom, trying to drown herself.

"NO YOU WONT," i yell. i grab her hand and i demanded her to change and come with me. she agreed by the skin of my teeth.

"what do you want maya? all you have been doing is hurting me," riley peeps. i roll my eyes and i don't respond.

"we are here!" i exclaim. we are at school, John Quincy Adams middle school. i took her into the library. it was dark and she refused, but i convinced her that their was nothing to be afraid about. i pushed her in and lock the doors.

"let me out!!" pounding on the door. riley finally gave up.

"riley matthews, come back to me. you are my everything and im so sorry for what happened during the past couple of days. im a huge jerk and a no at all. you are so beautiful, caring, and ive always wanted you to be mine." i hear a voice coming from the other side. i then see lucas. i have a blank face. i don't want to deal with him.

"no lucas. we are over." i fire back, tears threatening to come out. he walks over and gives me a soft, slow kiss. i didn't know what to do, so i kissed him back. i missed our old lives. when nothing mattered as much. i smile between kisses and we stayed like that for what felt like an eternity...

riley -
lucas loves me and he kissed me. i missed him being like this, not like the daring and rude one i witnessed a couple days ago. i laugh and we continue to kiss. after a while, we pulled away. we smiled and left, with our hands interlocked. maya was there.

"thank you. thank you to both of you," i reply, sweetly. they nod their heads and we head out the door, waiting to see what the world has in store for us.
