Not many Gryffindors had a good night sleep that night. The castle was once again searched through for Sirius Black and the other houses were anxious when they found out what had happened.

Everywhere they went the following day was more secured. Professor Flitwick could be seen teaching the front doors to recognize a larger picture of Sirius Black, Filch was suddenly bulsting up and down corridors, boarding up everything from tiny cracks to mouse holes. Sir Cadogan had been sacked and replaced with the Fat Lady who was still extremely nervous, but agreed to go back to her old place on one condition; extra protection. So a group of surly security-trolls had been hired to guard her.

Harry had thought about telling the teachers about the tunnel to Hogsmeade in case that was how Black had entered the castle, but decided against it when Y/n told him not to. Her reasoning was simple; If someone like Black had broken through Honeydukes, it'd be great news, and nothing like that'd been announced.

Ron was now the new celebrity of the school, he was for the first time ever getting more attention than Harry and he was surely enjoying it. He'd happily tell anyone who asked about his traumatic experience with a wealth of detail.

Poor Neville on the other hand had been banned from all further Hogsmeade trips, received a detention, and he was also forbidden to have any passwords to the common room. The boy had to wait outside until someone could let him in. None of these punishments, however, came close to matching the one his grandmother had for him. Two days after the incident she sent Neville the worst thing a Hogwarts student could receive during breakfast-- a Howler.

Ron had advised him to run for it, and Neville didn't need telling twice. He had seized the envelope and held it before him like a bomb before zooming out of the Great Hall. The Slytherins had exploded with laughter when they heard Neville's grandmothers voice go off in the Entrance Hall-- magically magnified to a hundred times its usual volume she shrieked about him being a shame for the family.

Y/n had felt extremely bad for him.

After that, Harry and Ron had been invited to Hagrid's while Hermione and Y/n stayed behind, trying to find ways to help Buckbeak.

For the last months since Buckbeak had slashed Malfoy's arm, Hermione and Y/n had frantically tried to find ways that could help Buckbeak's case. They had been updated by Hagrid weekly about how it was going. The boys hadn't been involved since this mostly took place during the time when Hermione and Ron fought, and that resulted in Harry and Ron simply keeping to themselves.

It was hard finding stuff about Hippogriffs, and they didn't find much that could help, but they tried and Hagrid had expressed how thankful he was for that.
