Getting ready the next morning I decided to try out a different make-up style... As well as spending less time making sure my hair and skin looked perfect, it was one of those vain things that I don't like about myself. I put my uniform on and opened the door for Dee, but she wasn't here yet... I shrugged it off and realised that Jodie and I had lessons right next to each other.

We walked together still finding it difficult to actually talk, but I got to the lesson and sat right at the back with Dee. "Heya!" she smiled.

"Hey."

She gave me a long stare, "you look different." She smirked.

"In a bad way, I look ugly right?"

She giggled, "no, not ugly, I don't know if there's any way you could make yourself look ugly." she winked.

"Smooth." she gave a goofy toothy grin, "so you like it?"

"Yea. I mean, it's okay.."

We spent the next two lessons giggling with each other at the back while making dumb jokes and then headed to the cafeteria.

"Hey, Jodie." I smiled sitting across from her. Dee sat right next to me. "uh, this is Dee."

"Hey." she smirked, before dropping her voice to a whisper, "you the girl who's fucking their roommate?"

Jodie gave me a quick scowl as her cheeks turned red, she angrily whispered, "you told her?!"

"No, I just said that there were girls that-I didn't say names or that you were my roomies..." I explain, she isn't impressed.

"I just think it's good you can fuck. I haven't even like watched porn since I got here." Dee has a quick laugh at my face as my eyebrows raise.

"I'm surprised that Mary's new bestie is a girl like you?"

Dee smirks at her, "bestie? She tell ya that herself, aww... Nah, I'm not like obsessed with like sex and shit, just it's kinda the topic? Anyway, what's your story Jodes?"

"Um, story? My parents ditched me at this school, I instantly made friends with my roomies, nothing so exciting."

She pearched her head in her hand, "I don't buy that for a second-"

Just then Faye bounded over, "hey girls."

"Hello?" Dee frowned.

"Hey, Faye." Jodie gave a tiny forced smile.

"I jus-"

"hold that thought, I actually need to talk to Mary about something," Jodie quickly said getting up only turning to offer, "uh Faye, this is Dee."

I followed her and she led me to the edge of the cafeteria, "what's up?"

She just smirked, "really, Mary."

"What?"

"Dee." she gave me this weird look, "it's just, she's like everything you hate."

"That's not true." Well, maybe it is a bit true, she's surprisingly nice.

"C'mon, I know you, you'd have told her to leave you alone the second she swore."

For some reason I just felt really fed up, "you sure you know me? Cause I thought I knew you but that obviously wasn't true. I thought we knew each other, guess it turns out we're both a bit more complicated than all that!" I was now red-faced halfway between anger and embarrassment as she seemed upset and angry.

"I'm sorry, I just meant that..." She rubbed her face with her palm, "I'll talk to you later."

With that, she just walked off seemingly heading back to her room. I didn't care I just headed back and sat next to Dee, who looked overjoyed that I was back. "Hey Mare, what happened with Jodes?"

"I don't wanna talk about it."

"Alright, well Faye here was just chatting my ear off about, uh... Well, she was chatting." Dee smirked as Faye got red-faced and stomped off. "Geez, your pals are a riot."

I gave a small laugh, "we should do something."

"What you talking about?"

"Right now, we should just go somewhere, do something, just bunk off."

She smiled but just went along with it, "yea, let's do it."

Both agreed we walked out to the hallway and had a glance around before running, well sprinting out the reception doors. Laughing at each other as we heard the receptionist shout something at us. We ran frantically into the woods, her leading, and after near five minutes reached a half-fallen tree we could sit on.

I spent around half a minute just biting my lip, giggling, riding on an adrenaline high, before I asked, "you know this spot."

"Of course..." She started using a branch to dig into a small dirt mound, not taking long to hit a small metal container she then pulled out. "They'll be pretty warm but, eh, it'll be fine."

She opened it to show, two large cans of some beer? "I-I don't drink."

"Okay..." She tossed it to me anyway. I look at the logo for a few seconds, then scanned the ingredients, I think about what my dad would think, but also of how everyone sees me as this egotistical little golden child. I couldn't hear Dee as I just stared down the can almost as if it was challenging me.

"Mary?"

"Fuck it." I moaned popping the can open and taking a large gulp of the warm, unpleasant amber liquid. But there was this little buzz of confidence or just loosening up that gave me a lip-biting smile.

She put her arm around me, "yes girl!lets go fucking wild today!"
