At school on Monday, I decided to tell Kelsey the big news about the letter from Harvard.
I spotted her studying by a tree on the front lawn during free period and ran over to her. "Hey Kels," I said, out of breath, "I've got amazing news from a college!"
"You did?" she asked excitedly, "What school?" I smiled so wide, the excitement was bubbling inside me. I couldn't keep it in any longer, so I half shouted, "Harvard! I got a full sports scholarship!"
"Really?" she asked, "that's so great! I'm proud of you Spence, I really am."
"Thanks," I said, "but there's just one thing I don't understand. I never applied to an Ivy League school, let alone Harvard. Did you know about this?"A sly smile spread across her face, and immediately I knew she sent in an application for me. "Why?" I asked. "I had to!" she said, "I couldn't watch you wait anymore! I knew that Harvard has a great football team, even though they're known for spitting out lawyers and not star football players, its a really great school and getting a full-ride is the opportunity of a lifetime."
I guess I had to think about it more, but I really wanted to go to somewhere like University of Florida or Clemson. But Harvard's classes are really good, and to go there would look great on a job resume if I don't do well in a football career. We'll just have to wait and see.
We finished off our conversation, and I left her to study while I went to the gym to play ball with my friends.

*1 Month Later*
Its finally graduation day. After 4 years of hell, I can finally escape, to go back to school. Yay..
Kelsey, on the other hand, was very excited. "Just think," she said, "In a few short months, we'll be in Boston." I went to pick her up from her house so we could get to the school on time, and our families went separately.
"Yea..." I drifted off. I still haven't decided if I'm going to Harvard, and I haven't heard from any other schools yet, which is awfully strange. In fact, this whole "going into the world" experience is strange. Oh well, I guess its normal to feel weird about this.
We're adults now. We can make our own decisions, and live our lives freely. Once I get that diploma, I'll be what I never thought I'd become: a real adult. I just hope once that happens, I'll make the right decisions on what happens next.

Oh Darling, Stay With Me
Ficção AdolescenteThis is the sequel to my story Stay With Me, and it is VITAL to read that first! This talks a lot about Kelsey and Spencer's future (in Spencer's POV) but there is a lot of flashbacks to Drew!
