The next day I decide to go to school, and find that I missed somethings.
“Hey Kat! Guess what?” my friend Mich runs up to me, “Oh you look cute!” I look down at myself in confusion, I'm wearing a pair of black jean shorts, a mint green tank top under a black denim jacket and a pair of plain black Vans.
“You too!” I exclaim. Today he's wearing a tank top and a pair of shorts as short as mine. Mich is very flamboyant, very much gay, and prefers to go by Michelle. “What's up?” I ask, looping my arm through hers.
“We have two new guys.” I look at her in surprise. “Samuel and Liam, and they're cute.”
“Is that so?” I ask. Michelle nods excitedly. “Well then,” I say, smirking. “We'll have to give them and official tour today,” I say mischievously, “Wont we?” I look at Michelle and see her smirk. “What class?”
“Acting.” her grin widens. “Samuel is a fantastic actor OMG. I just can't even with him.” I chuckle at how dramatic she it. “Liam seems to be slightly more introverted, but he's really good too.” she explains. “But, they're, like, polar opposites. Samuel is all blonde hair and gold eyes and Liam is all black hair and brown eyes. But to chose one would be... oh impossible!” she throws her arms up and I laugh. “Let's go!” he exclaims.
Michelle and I both have Theater first class, on A and B days, everyone in the play did. I walk into the greenroom and grab the coffee cup with my name on it, then onto the stage with a flourish. “I am here, and we can begin!” I call, raising my arms as I step onto the platform with a throne. I sit and cross my legs.
“My Queen.” my friend Colin kneels and kisses the back of my hand. He also plays the King to my Ice Queen. I giggle and coyly cover my mouth with my hand. “May I introduce you to our new courtiers?” he says in the voice of the king. I nod and stand. “Sam!” he calls, and a boy turns. Mich was right, he's all golden tan, golden hair, golden eyes. He's gold, and I'm stunned. “This is Kat.” a smile spreads across Samuel's face. “Kat, this is Samuel.”
Samuel bows deeply and takes my hand, kissing it. “A pleasure, your Highness.” he says theatrically.
Colin pulls me away towards another boy. “Hey Liam.” he says, the boy turns and I'm frozen. His hair is black and his eyes are the deepest, warmest blue I've ever seen. He smiles at me and he has a stunning smile. “This is Kat.”
“A pleasure to meet you.” he says nicely. I have this feeling I've seen him before, that I know him. But there's no way! I've never met this boy in my life, I would remember someone like him. Wouldn't I?
Colin elbows me in the ribs, I cough. “Uh, yes, I'm sorry.” I chuckle nervously. “I'm Kat. Sorry I wasn't here yesterday. I got a new pet and needed to be home...” I trail off slowly. “Aaaand you probably don't care. I'm sorry.”
He laughs, genuinely laughs. “It's alright. What kind of pet?”
“A fox.” I'm about to explain more, but am cut off by Benji calling for quiet on set. Benji was short for Benjamin, our director.
“Kat, welcome back! Have you met Liam and Samuel?” he asks. I nod. “Great! We'll run Act II today. Places in five!” I'm already pretty much in my place.
“Who do you play?” I ask, turning to Liam, but he's not there. “Hmm,” I muse and head offstage to my place. Sam is there. “Who do you play?” I ask him.
“According to the script I'm … Henry.” he says, going through the script he's holding. We have another two months until the show but I have the whole thing memorized.
