The next morning I woke up with a terrible hangover and an arm wrapped over my waist. I rolled over to meet the face. “Good morning sunshine.” Harvey rubbed his hand over my back and slowly opened his eyes. He yanked his hand back and shrieked, “Lara what the fuck!” I jumped out of the bed and grabbed my shirt and my jeans that I had on the night before, quickly slipping them on. “I don’t know! I don’t remember what happened!” Harvey stood up and pointed to the door, “Just, get out.” He barked at me.

I tried to hold back my anger and tears as I shuffled to the room I was staying in. After quickly knocking on the door I pushed it open, finding Parker awake watching the morning news. “Are you alright?” I had my shirt half on and my jeans still in hand. “Shoot,” he hid his eyes.

“It’s okay, I just need to find sweatpants or something.” I quickly tore through my suitcase and found a comfortable pair, slipping them on and fixing my shirt. “Come sit down here,” Parker patted the spot beside him.

“Parker do you know what happened last night?” He looked up and tapped his finger on his knee. “After we came up here and talked for a while, some mature things happened between us, then you couldn’t sleep so you went to talk to Harvey to make sure he was alright.” I let out a huge sigh and buried my head in his chest. “I’ve never felt so relieved.” I let out a few tears and held onto Parker tightly.

“It was pretty great sex.” He laughed pulling me into a passionate kiss.

I playfully hit him in the arm, “you realize I thought Harvey and I slept together, right?”

He pulled away from me, “you get around, don’t you?” His fingers tapped around my waist and he kissed my forehead. “What time do you guys have to leave?” I had to think about it. “Our flight leaves at 11, what time is it now?”

Parker played with the waistline at my sweatpants, “it’s only 7.” I grabbed his hands and pushed him onto the bed, “I have to get ready still.” I got up and walked towards the door, “smells like bacon and coffee.” I flashed him a smile and hoped down the stairs.

Harvey’s mom was in the kitchen finishing frying up some bacon and pancakes for us. “How was the party, Lara?” She handed me a mug for some coffee. “It wasn’t bad at all, how was you and Emily’s girls weekend?”

She laughed, “well it was hard to relax when you have a teenage daughter.” I chuckled, pouring some coffee into the mug, “you can ask my parents all about that one.” Just as I sat down, Harvey walked into the kitchen from outside. “I think all the trash is cleaned up,” Harvey stopped when he saw me.

“I’ll be right back, I think we have more bacon in the basement freezer.” His mom left and he sat down beside me. “I’m sorry for yelling at you, Lar.”

“If I was in your position, and I found out I had slept with one of my best friends, I would freak out too. I don’t blame you.” Parker walked into the kitchen and pecked me on the check as he took a sip of my coffee. “God, you’re perfect.” He stared at my coffee, “America needs more women that drink coffee black.”

Harvey looked confused and stood up to walk to the fridge, “so are you guys a thing?”

Parker handed my coffee to me, “well I did what you didn’t, so somewhat?”

After letting out a small chuckle, I wrapped my arms around Parkers neck and gave him a small kiss. “Harvey, we didn’t have sex last night.” I proclaimed. Tayler and James joined us in the kitchen then and both looked extremely hungover. “You look like shit, James.” Harvey grabbed two mugs for coffee. “Have you guys seen Charles yet?”

Everyone shook their heads, “he said he was going for a drive earlier this morning,” Harvey’s mom came back into the room with handfuls of bacon and other breakfast items. “Did he say when he’d be back, mom?” Harvey took a deep breath.

“I’ll call his phone, James, check his room.” I grabbed a piece of bacon as I left the kitchen to grab my phone.

After multiple attempts, Charles finally answered his phone. “Charles, where are you?” I was biting at my nails, which were finally grown out.

“So now you seem to care,” he said after a long silence. I could feel tears from earlier begin to work up. “Charles Matthew Hill, we are leaving in a few hours, you aren’t here for breakfast, none of your shit is packed up, and you will not believe the morning that I have been having. Where are you?” I paced across the room waiting for a location.

He chuckled, “Croft, look, I’ll explain when you meet me here.”

There was a knock on the door, “where exactly is that?” Then he hung the phone up. “God dammit, Char.” The door slowly pushed open, revealing a scrawny, bacon covered face, Tayler.

I raised my eyebrows, “what is his deal, honestly, ever since we got here, something’s been up!”

“We’re leaving in five minutes; I think I know where he is.” He left the room and I plopped on the bed. During that moment, a million thoughts were going through my mind. But the one that kept reoccurring was why Charles just didn’t talk to me about things openly. I blinked a few times and then sat up and searched for a pair of jeans and my deodorant.
