Chapter 2
An angelical laughter sound, woke me up, I walked to the door. It was Annette, I could see that she was no longer wearing the big cloak but instead a lightly green dress that covered her to her feet but that clearly showed her delicate figure as she was running bare foot over the wet grass and to the lake, she didn't stopped, then I saw that she jumped to the water, but to my surprise she didn't sink, on the contrary she kept walking over the water with complete naturality. Perhaps it was all truth, all that she said the night before, maybe Skadi had given her a gift over water as she did with me.
I walked towards her, I felt more empathy and sympathy for her than the night before.
—Will you tell me where your army is? – I told her as she came close to me.
—As soon as you promise to help me – she answered firmly but with a big smile that made me also smile sincerely after decades perhaps. – I like your smile Lord Einar but you haven't answered my question. Do you swear to help me? – she held out her hand again.
My heart felt that in front of me was some how a part of myself that I always taught it was missing, a completely opposite force but that as odd as it may seem complemented me. I took her hand and swore to help her with anything that she asked me. Why? I don't know, I guess it was just destiny.
With out letting go my hand she showed me the way, I noticed we were heading to the mountain where the giants lived.
—I don't think that the giants will let you get closer to their territory, they don't know you.
—It will be fine... —she told me as she kept firmly walking.
I noticed that day that the forest creatures were especially quiet, I didn't see at least one goblin, a fairy, not even the Asradi were in the lake, it was like if everyone were sleeping.
After a couple of hours, we reach our destination. Annette sat over a big rock at the top of the mountain she indicated me to sit by her side. She took my hands and form a basin with them, I heard her whispering something and I felt the clear water appearing between my hands, she told me to drink it and so I did.
—It's time for you to know my army.
I looked around, there wasn't even a soul around us, we were completely alone at the top of that mountain. Was she kidding me?
She got on her feet and with her right foot she hit the rock lightly. I started feeling that the earth was vibrating.
—I think we just woke up the giants —I said but I noticed she wasn't hearing anymore, her eyes turned completely white.
A blinding light filled the forest clearing, the energy was overwhelming, it was like if hundreds of warlocks were around me, so I took out my sword ready to defend myself.
—They won't hurt you. —I heard Annette's voice.
The light began to vanish and then I saw all the warlocks congregated around me.
—This is my army —Annette was smiling proudly.
More than a hundred of angry faces were looking at me with expectation. Some of them were wearing huge armors, others just old furs, they were so many that I couldn't see the ones that were in the back.
—I kept my promise! — I heard Annette's voice behind me, stronger as I never heard her before, it was like the tender woman I met the night before wasn't longer there. She was talking to her army.
—I promised to bring the forest warlock, and here he is, willing to help us take the throne. He, the fire master will lead us to the victory! —she shouted as she held my hand up with hers.
